You may want to try out some helpful steps below:
- Disable the cellular/mobile data for your mobile device where the Nest app or Home app is installed. If you’re using your cellphone to check, make sure it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your lock. To help make sure cellular data is off, turn on Airplane mode and then turn on Wi-Fi.
- Check the OS version of your mobile phone device. We recommend the following versions for the best experience when using the Nest app or Home app:
Android phone or tablet with Android 8.0 or later, and iPhone or iPad with iOS 14.0 or later versions.
- Try updating the Nest app or Home app.
- Try installing the Nest app or Home app, using the same account, on another mobile phone or tablet device, and see if you will experience the same issue.
- If you don't experience the same issue with another device, we recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the Nest app or Home app on the main mobile phone device.

But getting here was much harder than I expected. I have installed Nest products before(doorbell, thermostat, outdoor cams ) but this was by far the hardest install because of the goofiness with the network install with IOS. After spending 4 hours trying to follow all the instructions it still didn’t work. I had to return to the mountain cabin the next weekend with more crazy options to complete the network connection. It finally worked but waaaaaay too clunky to get this installed. Google needs to revamp this ongoing issue.

The Yale is such a more responsive smart lock. We have yet to have an issue with it. Both my kids fight over unlocking the door since everyone in the family has a code. Nice to have it all synced with our nest app, thermo, smoke detectors.
