Does not handle interruptions well

Unfortunately the lock does not appear to be as well designed as those devices. If I restart my router all of my Nest Protects reconnect fine. The thermostate reconnects fine and the Nest Connect required for the nest Lock reconnects without issue. However the Nest lock will stay offline. A simple restart of taking all of the batteries out does not re-establish a connection. Even after doing a factory reset it then took over 20 tries to sync the nest Lock back up with the nest connect. The Nest connect is just a couple feet away and in visible site but it still would constantly error out trying to connect. The Nest Connect is synced up fine too because when I use the app to add the lock the Nest Connect nearly instantly starts to flash blue meaning its ready to try and sync with the lock. Since a factory reset means you have to get out the screwdriver and completely dismantle the lock this is not acceptable for handing the case of a router restarting.

Nest/Google does make it difficult in some ways to want this lock. It's a niche item. Once you buy into the Nest solutions, you are sort of stuck. Now, don't get me wrong, I love the lock, but you do worry about the future of it, Google has pulled some good Nest products to replace with their own, and I don't believe the Google is as good.
