The Netgear Ethernet Switch is a simple, easy to setup, switch that provides 16 high speed Ethernet ports that auto detects 10/100/1000 Ethernet signals. Works well for expanding your wired network, in a relatively small form factor.

Price is really good for this item and got it even better on Cyber Monday:-) Easy setup, plug and play. Bought it to replace two 8 port switches to route all traffic through a single switch for better performance.

The product warranty, the performance, the price, the convenience of it being located at my local BBY and being able to get MyBBY Program points are all part of the reason why I purchased this L2 unmanaged switch. Serious increase in file speed copying from WD MyCloud 3TB Gigabit Ethernet NAS to my Drobo5N and Drobo FS NAS servers. This is a REAL 32-Gb bandwidth L2 switch. Don't settle for other switches that claim to be "Gigabit" switches. They might have the same number of ports and link up at GbE speeds, but they won't have the throughput that this one does! When you start moving GB size files around your home wired network from PC to PC / Mac to Mac / NAS to NAS, you will appreciate the difference this product delivers.

    Ethernet Lag??

I was having lagging issues on my Ethernet connection with both my TV and laptop for awhile. This 16 port unit connected simply and easily and cured the lagging issue! The prior Ethernet switch was installed 5 years ago and was a NetGear 8 port Gigabit switch. I thought most digital devices either worked or failed, so I’m not sure why the old switch encountered lag issues. This is the reason that I held back one star. If I find lag issues down the road, with this switch, I’ll see what other options are available.

A very compact switch that does everything efficiently and without any attention being required. This switch opened my network up the way I needed it to without creating any weaknesses. I highly recommend for anyone that needs a network switch.

Overall good compact switch that has the speeds as advertised. switch doesn't get hot or make any noise (no fan). I would recommend unless you have a rack, this would not fit in a rack and does not have screw holes for that type of mounting.

We were setting up a training room for my company and I needed to connect several computers to our LAN. I had only an hour or so left to get everything going before training started when our switch for the room went out. Trying not to have a Packet Panic, we rushed to BestBuy four cities away and found this switch. We purchased it and drove back to complete the setup hoping it would "just work". Luckily, all we had to do was plug in the power and other Ethernet cables and everything was up and running without hassle and with a few minutes to spare!

Used an 8 port poe unmanaged switch from Netgear for years without any issues, needed to expand, didn't hesitate to purchase this, although did not require poe so saved some $ on this item. Big fan of Netgear hardware and would highly recommend for anyone who needs to provide hardwire expansion to their electronics collections. Truly plug and play equipment.

The switch is easy to deploy. Once powered on, all you have to do is ensure end-devices are connected and operational. The speed (10, 100, 1000 Mbps) is automatically negotiated and the highest supported is chosen. The LEDs are straightforward, so it's easy to tell what speed is negotiated on the switch's ports.

Super easy plug and play option which offers vast expansion and possibility of use. I use these all the time when doing small networks for businesses in the area. it's really nice because they can be mounted directly on the wall. They offer a rugged metal case which is hard to find these days. In addition, I've never actually had one fail on me and I've installed a LOT.

This works very well for what I need. Just using it in my office to provide man ports for different devices. It does appear to be able to get 1 Gbs or much more then 100MBs for downloading games. It also has printer TV (used for monitor) Playstation 5 and 4 and other devices in room. It also has a few open ports for temp connections as needed.

If you need a fast and easy switch to quickly network all your PC's, this is for you. I set this up in a doctor's office where 12 client PC's need access to a server and the Internet. Everything is fast and the metal chassis keeps the switch cool. Highly recommended.

It isn't fancy, it is not managed, but, it is gigabit and has zero overhead, so it is fast and idiot proof to install for simple networks. For the price, it is hard to complain. I almost knocked off one star only because I have had some reliability issues with Netgear switches overheating in the past, but decided to give this one a fair shake, and can always come back and ding it later.

Recently upgraded to Google Fiber, and my old switch was only capable of 100mbs. After purchasing this switch, now able to achieve speeds of 900mbs with wired devices. Couldn't be happier. Using this switch for the following devices: 3 PCs, 1 Mac, 1 PS4, 1 Xbox One, Google DVR/router, 1 PS3, 1 Xbox 360, 2 DVDs, and 2 Smart TVs. Haven't experienced any service interruption on any of the devices. Great switch to purchase for the price.

Nice build. Easy to use, just plug and play. I'm on gig internet and download speeds are around 500Mb/s. Tested with multiple consoles and pc concurrently with no lag.
