Purchased this as an upgrade to my old modem. After reading many reviews, I figured this was a logical step up to handle Internet speeds at one gigabyte or below. Where I live that is the maximum Internet speed anyway. Therefore I did not need to purchase some of the more expensive modems that handle up to 10 GB - when at present there was no way I would be able to get an Internet signal even close to that in my home. It works good and was bought on sale. So far there have been no issues, and I’ve been using it over one month. I would highly recommend this.

I bought this cable modem to avoid renting one for internet from my internet provider. I've only had it for 9 days but it appears to be working for my house, so I am happy with my internet access and speed at this point. It was easy to set up and pair with the router I bought, so I can say it is very user friendly for non-techy types. :-) I found researching other users' reviews from several websites helpful in determining which modem and router would work best with my internet provider and my household. I believe my purchases are worth the money spent and will meet my needs for awhile.

Replaced my previous one that was fried by lightning strike. Fast, small and reliable. Get rid of your internet provider modem and wifi combo. You will not be sorry.

Not one problem with this modem. Installation was easy. No more renting an Xfinity or AT&T modem that I have to return after paying hundreds of dollars. It’s fast, reliable and didn’t break the bank.

Quick install, easy to use modem, had no issues at all

I have Suddenlink as my ISP and I've noticed my speeds weren't where they were meant to be. I have a wired connection and I'm paying for 100mb speeds. With the modem they gave me, this is what I was getting: 22mb down, 20mb up. Obviously something isn't right. Despite having them check it out, they said there was nothing wrong. I knew my speeds were being cheated. I've eyed this modem after email support told me they need modems with 3.0 and at least 8 channels. Knowing that I immediately went out to get this. ---Please be aware, if you get this, you have to call the tech support line to install it. You can't use their online tool for replacing your old modem even though it takes you through all of the proper setups.--- Once they had the modem info I was off and running. Ran a new speed test and loved my new results: 100+mb down, 25mb up. The upspeed varies through the day and I bet it differs based on where you live. Rarely does it dip to under 20. But downspeed is now always consistent. Extremely happy with this plus I don't have to worry about being charged a modem rental fee.

Wanted faster download speeds and upgraded to achieve. Easy setup, speeds achieved and no dropouts or resets. Paired with Orbi mesh router and works great all the time. No complaints from me.

This modem has been great. Handles the high speeds very well. I have now had this modem for over two years and it is still working great. Easy to use and setup as well.

Got this to replace my 3 year old failing modem. Was easy to set up, except it did require a computer that had Cat 5 Capability, which my laptop doesn’t have, so I had to temporarily relocate my desktop just for this. Minor inconvenience, but something to consider when purchasing. Have had zero issues with my internet since installation and synced with my wifi router with ease.

This Cable Modem is for USE WITH HIGH SPEED CABLE PROVIDER - make sure your cable provider is providing you very high speeds and that your cable provider approves the use of this modem with their cable system. This is one of the very best cable modems for high speed that a cable company will approve in 2019 and 2020 - in the future newer products my be introduced by NETGEAR so keep your self educated - but this modem will be great for many many years to come. THIS PRODUCT IS OUTSTANDING!

The modem works great for my Xfinity set up, and look great too. It's much cheaper and much smaller than the modem Comcast tries to rent to you and works every bit as well. Beware though that this particular modem does not have phone line provision so won't work with Xfinity "triple play". All in all a quality product and a great buy.

I work from home and this helped dramatically. Way better than the modems from the ISP. Fixed all my issues and I highly recommend. You will have to get a router to go with it, but for the price it is worth it. Also a SUPER easy installation process.

Great speed and reliability for a decent price. All with an easy setup.

Great pick up and price. I use with Spectrum and am on their Ultra plan and this baby can may out in the 600-650 meg range. Works great, easy out of box setup - small, quiet, and powerful.

I set up and installed this modem in less than 5 minutes and haven't had any issues. Doing an internet speed test the modem is sending the speeds that I want to my router with minimal ping. Not sure if it is exactly worth the price tag listed though. It feels light and kind of tacky, but still gets the job done. I'm using this in tandem with "NETGEAR - AC1750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 Router - Black" and haven't had many issues getting the speeds I wanted. Great for apartments and small homes, but if not experienced or have a bit of a tech background you might run into trouble setting this up with your internet provider.

I gave up on DSL internet and decided to move to cable. In the past I've used a combo modem/router but decided to go separate this time and chose a Netgear Nighthawk Router and this Netgear Modem. The modem was so easy to set up. I had everything ready to go and the installer was in and out quickly. We've had great speeds, no problems at all. I've always been happy with Netgear products and am happy to be back using Netgear. Highly recommend this modem.

Needed a new router/modem in a pinch and was lucky enough to snag this a couple hours later. Set up was very easy and ews running in no time. Only minor situation that I had noticed was that it gets very hot if it sits on other machines. It needs air flow, otherwise no issue

t took a bit to get the whole architecture of my system to work, but it had nothing to do with this modem. I wanted a couple of RJ-45 ethernet ports in my house that are wired with CAT-6 cable to work, so at first, I installed a 5-port Switch right after this CM700 cable modem. That did not work. Neither the cable modem nor the 5-port switch has the ability to manage IP Addresses. The cable modem is a Netgear CM700. The 5-port switch is a Linksys SE3005V2. So, I changed the architecture and installed the Primary Google Mesh Router as the first device after the cable modem and then connected the 5-port switch to the 2nd port on that Primary Google Mesh Router. Now all hard-wired RJ-45 Ethernet ports test at maximum speed and I am able to have a wired Ethernet connection to my TV and all RJ-45 Ethernet ports in the house are working as they should. I am paying for 150 Mbps internet speed and when I test connection speeds using the Google WiFi app and another 3rd party app, my test results are in the 172 Mbps range. I get the same WiFi speed everywhere in my house as I do when I connect my PC directly to any of the hard-wired RJ-45 Ethernet ports. At these speeds, it made no difference if I used a CAT-5E or a CAT-6 patch cable. Both tested the same. The setup of the Google Router/Mesh system was uneventful and easy. There was no setup or firmware update routine required for this CM700. I just followed the Quick Setup Guide and it was pretty much plug and play.

I just got new Suddenlink internet nearly 2 months ago and I wasn't down for paying monthly modem rental fee. I have the 400mbs internet plan. With this modem, I get on average 420mbs so I get the full speed of my plan without the modem fee. Accompanied with a Google wifi 3-router system, I get good, consistent, fast internet reliable for video calls, streaming services and my work from home environment. Haven't had any issues to date.
