Make sure to buy an ethernet cable!

Great product. Most of the time you will need another ethernet cable to add a switch to your network. Unless you are lucky enough to have an extra one laying around.

Super simple to setup - just plug it in and off you go! Does exactly what it says on the box, excellent network speed also as it's gigabit.

Worked good but lasted for 2 years. Had buffering after I installed it. Guess you pay what you get.

I concur with the fellow that said they last about 18 months. This is my second in roughly 3 years.

We are able to use our ethernet connection on our computer in our home office and omit the use of our router.

Works great. Simple. Easy. Just plug it in and plug into it. Good value for a good brand name.

This is a piece of JUNK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this switch and it worked fine for the first two months or so but then started malfunctioning and doing strange things. At least once a week I'd have to either "reset" the switch by unplugging it from the electricity for a moment and then plug it back in. Or I'd have to switch ports because one port would arbitrarily stop functioning and I'd have to plug my computer in to another port. Sometimes the "activity' lights on a port would show the port being active even when nothing was plugged into it. Other times it would just not communicate with the router it was connected to. All in all, this switch is a piece of junk for the price I paid for it. Yes, its easy to set up but apart from that, its a pain in the butt in every other way. Not only would I NOT recommend this to a friend, I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy.

Usually get great performance from Netgear Prosafe but not this time. Replaced a Cisco 10/100 switch with this to take advantage of the gigabit speed. Granted my network is mixed speed but my over all throughput was a tenth of my cisco. Put my cicso back in and getting a different switch. This switch might just be sensitive to what is plugged into it. Might work better in different network configurations.

GS105 Incompatible with Intel PRO/1000 MT PCI Card

This switch will not allow my VAIO Desktop computer with the Intel PRO/1000 MT PCI card to work. I tried swapping out cables and every other possiblity (settings, etc.) but it will only support 10Mbs not a gig. It supports 100Mbs for other devices but somehow has an issue with this network card so I had to return.
