I went to best buy to buy a router. This router does not seem to rout. GEEK-SQUAD team members said that this was what I needed to run two computers from one modem. It does not work. It just sits here. I bought another router, it works just fine. Do you want this thing back? Cheers! DanQ

Gets the job done as switches go but would not recommend considering you can buy must better switches for the same price. This is not a multi gigabit switch meaning it will only do up to 1gig over all four ethernet ports not 1gig on each port. Then again what do you really expect at this price point.

Product was great. Shopping at best buy is always a disappointment because of the snooty staff.

The Ethernet switch has worked as intended. Good value for the price for sure. The only issue I have is it seems to drop the download speed a little more than advertised, but it’s till pretty fast.

We set this up to use as a branch hub- and well, it works like a hub, not a switch. The lights light up and flash like crazy but file transfers at a rate of a 100M switch. We finally plugged in a router with a switch to do the task we bought this thing for. This is the first time I've had a truly unsuitable-for task product from Netgear. I would say it is also the last. If you don't mind plugging in a switch and getting much less than you paid for- go for it. I suspect most people would not even notice the defect as it does switch- it just does so very poorly.

I do not recommend this product. It lasted 24 hours and then would not power up again. One of the technical boards said this was an issue with the power adapter.

I am using this as the primary network node for a pfSense router/firewall. I just plugged it in and hooked up my cables and it was good to go. It is super compact, can be ran directly off of 12vDC and has a lifetime warranty. Also I do like the fact that each port has LEDs to indicate activity and Gigabit vs. a 10 or 100 Mbps connection. It is easy to tell what network or machine is talking. Another thing is that I have seen these switches operate outside in the heat of day in Iraq with 120 degree weather, although it is recommended to place these in a cool room. The switch is also power efficient only consuming 12 watts. I was also able to get a 20ms ping with my pfSense machine and the switch hooked up with only 2ms jitter.

Did not work for what we needed it for. Netgear needs to step up cause the competitors are way better.
