Awful - Extremely outdated config page/software
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am absolutely sick of Netgear products. I told myself I would give this one a shot since it is just a switch and all I needed was port mirroring. I literally couldn't even change the IP for it. The web interface would constantly freeze, the ProSafe software is garbage and wouldn't let me click on any of the config tabs other than home, which doesn't let you do anything. It kept telling me I had the wrong password even though I never changed it, it locked me out multiple times after only one failed login attempt. I work in IT Security and have some networking background and am perfectly competent and this thing made me feel so stupid, even though it wasn't my fault. Even for someone who might just want it for regular old switching and maybe some VLANs, how are you supposed to do anything if you can't even configure its IP Address? I have had the same issue with EVERY Netgear product I have EVER bought: Powerline adapters, Wireless RTR's/AP's, Switches, etc. Their MGMT UI's look like they were written by someone in the 90s and offer very little configuration flexibility. Even if you aren't a big IT nerd, you deserve better. Buy anything else.
