Why didn't I do this long ago? When your ISP charges $11/mo to rent their modem, you normally don't pay it any mind... But, when you think of the small investment in purchasing your own equipment you shake your head at how much money you've been GIVING away. I picked this Netgear Modem up for under $60 so, in less than 5 months it will have paid for itself! After that I'm looking at a savings of $156/year since my provider just raised their fee from $11 to $13/mo to rent their stuff. Even though this is an inexpensive and entry level product, it is still capable of up to 340Mbps download speeds, which is more than twice as fast as what my provider is allowing me, so don't be fooled into thinking you need anything more expensive unless you need it. Bottom line... if you have anywhere under 300DL/150UL speeds and don't have a telephone from your service provider, STOP THROWING AWAY MONEY and buy this Netgear Cable modem today!

I bought this because it had good reviews on line and it was on sale. It has worked great with no problems at all. Would recommend to someone looking for routers.

Great purchase and is cheaper than renting comcasts modem. I havent had any issues with the device though i had to have comcast come out because a seperate issue at my home. When the tech arrived he said "Thats really old equipment and might not work". When i told him i had just purchased it and i verified it was compatible with Comcast he seemed suprised but it works none the less.

I bought this modem to go with comcast's 105 Mbps Internet....the highest speeds I have gotten with my laptop being hard wired is in the 80-90 range down and about 50 up

My cable provider finally forced me to upgrade from my old modem. This one may not have all the bells an whistles of some of the more expensive ones, but it easily gets the job done. It was easy to set up and get up and running. I haven't had any problems. It was also cheap enough that I break even after only a little over 6 months instead of renting from my provider.

We bought this modem so we didn't have to rent one from Time Warner. It works just find. We have had no issues so far.

I use this with Comcast. No hassle , Very easy to setup and install. i am on 75 Mbps plan and no complains on getting the speed (depending on comcast)

Modem was easy to set up right from the box. Just made the connections, called Time Warner and they set it up remotely. Has been working great ever since without a problem and is saving me on the bill. Even though the TW speed is supposed to be 30 Mbs it actually clocks out at 37 so I'm enjoying a little bit of a bump in speed. All around good modem for the money.

exactly what we needed. Samsung, so it matches our TV and cable (DVR) box. No bells and whistles (blu-ray, etc.) Just plays our DVD's with no hassle.
