Stability issue if connected to router via etherne

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I encountered frequent “internet connection lost” error messages in the devices that were using this extender over my home Wi-Fi for internet connections. The status lights were always “on” indicating connection and Wi-Fi signal etc. were functioning. netgears online support was of no help. Problem turned out to/seems to be due to the fact that I had both the netgear Wi-Fi cable router and this mesh extender plugged into the Ethernet backbone in my house. Unplugging the extenders Ethernet cable from the Ethernet backbone, leaving just the Wi-Fi router connected to the home Ethernet backbone, seems to have resolved the issue .

Not sure it is worth it

I signed up for fiberoptic internet and wanted to extend that high speed to all the TVs in the house (and hand held devices) and using the extender seems to actually slow down the speed versus not using at all. It also was dropping the signal a lot until I reset it and then it was okay again. I might be doing something wrong with the way it is set up or something, but if that is the case, many people may have the same experience.

COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY

Not because I need it but because I spent $100 plus on this piece of garbage. My network was 100x better without it. I am very well versed in networking and troubleshooting. Even if after all the time spent it worked properly, I would still advise against this. It does not maintain connections, it has to entirely to close to the router almost negating what we are buying it for. The app and setup is stressful and time consuming. I simply wanted my network to extend out to my driveway so we could open the garage via Apple car play while still sitting in the vehicle. Apparently too much to ask. Anyway maybe I’ll win the 400 bucks so I can get my money back since it’s out of the returnable window. This thing is a dumpster fire!!!
