Routing review
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.set up took a couple of try's but part of that was due to a software update. The router works great though. No drop offs like we were experiencing before.

I was having some major problems with this thing!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hello... This is probably a really good unit. But, for some reason, I could not get it hooked up to my wireless network... Between not getting my own to get in, and other “ stuff”, I just lost interest in it for now... I may try it again later. But for now, I’m not really into it... Stay tuned...

Net Junk App for a decent extender
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hardware works pretty good, it extends the wifi a good distance. However, Netgear seems to be in the practice of forcing you to purchase a long term tech support contract. They offer 90 days free. Their app will not work and has terrible reviews on Google Play even though Google gives them an overall score of 4 stars. The reviews almost all are 1 star. I would recommend that you purchase their competitor's products, don't buy Netgear stuff they write their app to force you to purchase their tech support services for a plug it in, set it up and forget it device.

Not user friendly, not a good option
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked great when paired with a Old Comcast junk modem / router. Caused all sorts of problems when paired with a Netgear Nighthawk modem router. Reset the unit and WPS paired to Netgear Nighthawk router. The users iPhones would connect, then display no internet available. It was a Sync issue according to the Nighthawk internal logs. I check cable signal strength, time stamps, encryption, everything was good - yet problem persisted. Turned off the extender and problems went away. Also of note - Netgear app would not recognize the extender either.

Not impressed - lower speeds
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to like both this one and the AX6000 but both failed for me. I have a just under 3000 square foot house with a metal roof. I wanted better wifi in my master and needed ethernet ports as well. However once I plugged this in speeds were compromised, machines in different rooms were connecting and had reduced speeds, it became a mess. IMO if you get the super awesome and beastly AX11000 its better to just use it alone. If you need a true wide spread mesh system go with Orbi or similar. All my problems go away when I just use the AX11000 alone. I was hoping either this or the AX6000 would just "assist". In the end they were just not needed. The speeds shown in the status dashboard that show the connection with the router were significantly off with what they were providing attached devices. For example, a laptop connected to the 5Ghz band directly to the AX11000 was basically maxing out at 300mbps and when I conencted it to the extender (both the AX6000 and AX1800) the speeds were significantly lower. Anyways I feel that if you need Mesh go with an out of the box Mesh system, don't try to build one.
