The configuration program is not great either. You have to put it close to the original router especially at 5G which essentially defeats the purpose of the device.

It’s just meh

The speed was really bad through this extender. Many times I had to turn it off to connect to my main router. So I returned the both and bought a netgear RAX80 router.

If you connect by ethernet cable as an access point it is no longer a mesh system. You might as well just add another router. If you connect by Wifi it does boost your signal strength whoever your speed is about a quarter of what you would expect. Netgear customer support will leave you on hold for hours then just hang up on you. Returned for another brand.

Terrible

Net gear WiFi extender not strong enough.

But, the app required to install it is, to be kind, a piece of crap. Full of redundant circular returns; I couldn't make it work. To their credit, Best Buy took it back and gave me a full refund.

Do not buy this

I changed my WiFi password and now I cannot reconnect the Netgear. I try multiple options to restart the extender and now I cannot return it...(15 days to return is not enough)

Pure Trash

From the setup "ease" to the cheap, plastic build quality, I wish I'd never purchased it. I now find myself looking for an entirely new solution.

I paired this with two separate routers and of course even devices that sit 3 feet from it drop off it regularly. Avoid Netgear products at all costs.

Big Disappointment.

It may have helped a little but not significantly and it messed up things that used the wifi like the printer. The set up was confusing, including having to use an app which was just about useless, and troubleshooting - like the printer - involved a lot of time and little results. We kept trying but after a few weeks just threw it away. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT all around.

I returned it because I found out it wasn't compatible with the cable service I used. I researched this before I bought it and nowhere did I see that it wasn't going to help me this extending wifi.
