    This thing kills it

This thing works really well and really helps saturate the house in good wifi coverage. With two people working from home during the pandemic and doing video calls and Webex meetings all day, we kept running into a problem with one end of the house having issues keeping a signal or the video quality would cut out. I received this as a part of a first look review program from Netgear and wow, it is a game changer. Setup was easy with Netgear's app. I had tried a few other wifi access point/routers with no luck, but with this, that end of the house has no issues anymore. I also have a ton of wifi smart home devices, and had actually bought a cheap extender to put them on a different network. The EAX20 fixed that problem, so now everything is on the same wifi network. Even though the lights are a little bright, the design fits just about anywhere without looking like a mechanical spider. When it was all lit up, we used it as a nightlight. I was surprised that overall range was only slightly better, but that was at the edges of the yard. There were also a few areas that had some issues picking which AP to join, but that can be expected with just about any solution. If you have an issue with coverage on one end of the house, especially if you're like me where the cable company's device is not easily put in the middle of the house, I recommend this one. Very useful and easy to get going.

    Great Extender

I've been using this extender for about a week now and it has been rock solid throughout. This extender is replacing an old netgear AC1200 extender that i bought many years ago and so far it has lived up to expectations. This one actually cost a little less than what i paid for the old one but provides a lot more options. I am using the extender as a companion to my wifi 6 router. I have a ton of devices in my house so the ability to handle these was a big plus. the other feature i really like are the Ethernet ports which are convenient to plug in near by devices. Another plus is that it is actually a decent looking device that doesn't have to be hidden out of sight and the option to turn off the lights is a nice touch. I initially tried to setup the extender through the app on my phone and while i was eventually able to get it done i did get 1 or 2 slight hiccups with it. The setup process through the app is very straight forward and overall the app is very easy to navigate it just may freeze at times. You can also setup the extender via a browser by connecting directly to it. I still find this the easiest method, probably because that is what i am used to. The performance thus far has been great. I have the extender located at the back of the house and the dead spots around it have all been eliminated. Speeds are excellent both via wifi and through the ports.

This was purchased solely to give me a little more signal to reach some lights in the front yard that light my driveway. I bought it, then installed it 2 days later, because I was dreading setting it up. Well, I was wrong. Set up was super easy, I had it plugged in and running in about 10 minutes. The app needed to run the nighthawk is readily available and It works so much better than expected. I am very happy with the results and I can see myself buying things from Netgear, mainly because of ease of use of dependability.

Completes the whole house WiFi perfectly

I had a previous non Wi-Fi 6 extender serving the back half of my house and now that i have upgraded to this unit, the back patio is ready for summer. We can easily accommodate all of our guests phones and tablets around the pool without any loading issues. It is especially helpful towards the end of the day when they are tired and just looking to watch a movie. The extra onboard ports were also a nice addition so i could hard wire my console and TV to get an extra boost in wireless performance. To get the device setup and added to my wireless network was very easy with the Nighthawk App. My main router at the house is a Nighthawk X10 and the two messed together well. I can walk from the front of the house to the back while on a Webex meeting and not worry about reconnecting or not being able to understand the person on the call. We have a small family of 4 but our wireless network was stressed tested at the end of the school year while both kids were on video calls with teachers, as well as my wife and I on our own calls while working from home. Everyone had to go to separate corners of the house to not be disturbed but the wireless mesh covered us all. +Received product as part of the NETGEAR First look Review program

I owned an older Netgear extender for years but the signal was going out more and more, so it was time to replace it. This recent Netgear range extender has not replaced my old one, but my both Roku tv's are logged into them now, and the signal hasn't dropped at all. Not only that, the signal is stronger and more consistent. I am at once relieved and impressed. Well done Netgear! Oh, and it was really easy to set up with my phone after downloading the proper app and following the instructions. Almost set itself up! I'll be a fan for life with products of this quality. Keep it up and thank you!

Upgraded to new, faster format. This Mesh was very easy to set up. Clear instructions and up and running in 10 minutes. I noticed faster transfer speeds from my old Netgear extender. My house is 3000 sq ft and there is a little corner of the house that still does not get a great signal, however, I just used my old Netgear for that one small area. The Mesh device seems to expand the signal somehow. Works well and has been stable in the week I have been using it. Larger than some extenders but slim and fits behind my TV. Love that it has 4 ports so I can plug an upstairs wireless TV directly into it. Far more stable now reception now.

Setup was quick and easy! Was really quite as simple as plugging it in and with a push of a button, the Wi-Fi was ready to go in a couple minutes. I have tried testing out the internet speeds of this Wi-Fi extender and without it. There is definitely a huge improvement in previously spotty locations! The product met my expectations over the couple of weeks I have been testing it. Would easily recommend to anyone that does not have great Wi-Fi coverage. This solves any issues. Especially with the Smart Roaming and Smart connect. I received the EAX20 from NETGEAR as part of a review and test program.

Great way to roam without being dropped!

Living in a two-story house with four roommates with 20-30 devices such as laptops, desktops, mobile phones, gaming consoles, smart home devices, security cameras, and so on, on the network constantly can make one fret when relying on their network not dropping. As well as having dead zones when one is trying to find sanctuary during quarantine. With the NETGEAR WiFi 6 Mesh Range Extender (EAX20) we were able to get a mesh network where we can utilize Wi-Fi 6 from any of our rooms. Setup was straight forward, no need to attach antennas to the device. Just powered on the extender, pressed the WPS button and connected it to my existing router. One thing that was difficult though was connecting back to the extender if you are not directly connected to it. Luckily I was able to log into my router through the Nighthawk app, go to device manager, and locate the IP of the Wi-Fi extender. If you are connected to the extender though, you can just access the admin portal by going to Mywifiext.net. I paired the NETGEAR WiFi 6 Mesh Range Extender (EAX20) with my NETGEAR 4-Stream Wifi 6 Router (RAX15) as an extender to have a single SSID throughout the house. Having a mesh network is very beneficial since my roommates and I don't drop any video calls when walking around anywhere in the house. Another great feature that separates this extender from others is that it offers four Gigabit Ethernet ports which allowed me to connect my Desktop and gaming console to the network without worrying about 2.4GHz congestion. Before having this extender, I was only able to get around 168 mbps from iPhone 11 while in my room, but now with the extender I get 450 mbps! No need to have Ethernet cables slithering around the house with this NETGEAR extender around! +Received product as part of the NETGEAR First look Review program

A good way to extend your network

    Posted .

My extender broke down, so I got this. Overall, it's good and works very well. Here's both the good and not-so-good: GOOD: It does not require you to configure a separate "extended" WiFi network. It can use the same name as your existing network and extend its range. It also lets you use multiple bandwidths (2.4 and 5GHz). It can connect to your base network using either bandwidth, or both for a faster throughput. Using both does give a faster throughput, but limits the extended network to either 2.4 or 5GHz (not both). It also allows you to configure a separate Guest network so that if you have friends/guests/visitors and want to let them connect to your network, you don't need to share your WiFi password with them. It also lets you configure access times so that people can't access the WiFi network outside of those specified times. NOT-SO-GOOD Initial setup is a bit convoluted if you're a technical person. You need to download an app for your phone and run it, using your phone to connect to the device's startup network. Or you can use a computer/laptop and connect to the startup network and run its setup through the web browser once you're connected. It's a guided setup utility that didn't work for me the first time, requiring me to run through the setup again. The initial setup does have limited options for you though and is only used to get it up and running. Afterward, you can configure it more deeply. There aren't a lot of advanced settings. You can configure and administer some settings, but it's an extender, not a router, and the settings will be more basic. The LED lights on the front are BRIGHT. They can be turned off, but can't be dimmed. Turning them off seems extreme because you won't be able to see if there's a problem like a bad signal to the base, but leaving them on sheds a lot of light. I turned my unit sideways so that the light isn't so distracting. OVERALL: It does work, and works well. It's a good solution for its cost.

NetGear Extenter By John I purchased the NETGEAR extender for my office equipment. My router is located in a metal box and was not making the distance it needed to run my WiFi equipment. The Extender was a breeze to install and I have 100% Wifi constantly!! Definitely would recommend this product.

Setup was a breeze, and it joined to my Netgear Nighthawk AX5400 network as a mesh system - no need to choose between SSIDs. When I plugged my laptop into the the extender I was getting 220 Mbps on our 200Mbps plan. coverage extends well out into the back yard - it's perfect. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the led lights are extremely bright. At night it lights out bedroom up way too much. I had to place several layers of tape over the led lights. If there was a way to disable the leds it would be 5 stars. Posted 1 month ago. I was selected to test this product by Netgear.

I have an attached garage with an apartment above the garage where a family member lives. The WiFi signal is strong in my house, but spotty in the apartment so I really needed something to boost the signal strength. Once I got it set up, this Extender has been excellent! Strong, consistent signal strength. I did struggle a bit with the setup, but I called the customer service number and they were excellent. The rep stayed on the line with me and talked me through everything. I’d definitely recommend this product if you’re struggling with weak or dead spots.

I needed something for a new Airbnb that we had and I didn't want to pay for an additional wifi connection. The Airbnb is in a separate building across from the main house. The extender worked perfect. It took me a bit to figure out how to set it up but once I did, I was very pleased.

I have always had problems connecting to our WiFi while sitting in my comfy chair because I am in the far corner of the house from the router and there are so many obstacles in the way. With the NETGEAR WiFi 6 Mesh Range Extender (EAX20), that is no longer the situation.
