Need to boost that’s neighbors unsecured WiFi
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to see if I could get a better signal on a free hotspot near me. Let me tell you not only do I not have to pay for internet now but i was able to find 20 more routers that are broadcasting near me. This thing is STRONG!

A terrible product, however...
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I suppose it gets the job done. After trying multiple solutions I've found on the internet, I finally fixed the disconnecting issue. Funny enough, I'm pretty sure one of the steps I had to take was disabling the plugin that the device installs. I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone. It took tons of research and fiddling with my settings to get this thing to work like it should've outside of the box. The store employee recommended this as the best device to get for using wi-fi with my desktop computer... I couldn't disagree more. And after seeing online reviews, I don't think I'm the only one. Please don't buy this unless you're either, A.) a person who enjoys technology that doesn't work right or, B.) as masochist.

Tried, tired, gave up....
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased this product due to its "Netgear" reputation. Following all the directions to the "T" the speeds were ridiculously slow at 5g and slow at 2.4g. My router/modem was tested by my internet provider and all was good. Removed adapter from 3.0 usb port, disabled in device manager and engaged internal wireless card and the speeds were much faster and consistent than with the nighthawk. Spent over one hour on the phone continuously transferred from one tech to another and gave up when the last tech said it was going to be another hour. Went to the Netgear community site and had no success there as with the emails from Netgear. Returned item after three days and bought a Linksys adapter, smiling now.

Dead after 45 days
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Speeds were great while this lasted. There were some random overheating issues where it would shut down due to heat protection. I positioned it over my computer's upper exhaust fan and didn't have that issue any longer. The bad part is it ended up dying only 45 days after purchase. Went to use the computer one morning and the adapter wouldn't power up. Tried multiple ports and 3 different computers, re-installed the drivers and still nothing. The extension cable and stand still work fine, but the adapter itself is dead.

No complaints...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works like a charm. Had to move my son's computer desk to another room to accomodate a new bed and room setup and unable to be wired. This works perfect and with stable connection.

Who Would Use A Magnet in their product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm shocked that a manufacturer would ever use a magnet that could damage a computer....but Netgear did. I needed a wireless connection for my desktop computer. With limited space on my desk I placed the unit on top of the computer case. Well, I got it setup but it damaged my hard drive making the computer unless to me at that point. I have used other products by Netgear in the past that was why I trusted it would be a good product. Whoever designed this product does not know the dangers of magnets and computers.

Doesn't stay connected....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i thought by the name of the brand and its reputation it would be a great Wifi Adapter, sadly i was wrong. It worked fine the first couple of days then all of a sudden it would constantly connect and disconnect it was really frustrating to say the least.
