Here is the thing, WiFi, Networking troubleshooting is not new to me, I like it as a hobby,, and before you read read this in bold : This thing does not work with latest gigabit router/modem from Xfinity,(White version) Bought this device, installed a tool called netgear "genie" whatever!, I don't even remember the name, as per the instructions, plugged this into a USB3.0 port and wanted it to start picking up on my wifi router - Xfinity and the internet access, even disabled a internal wifi card so it does not interfere with this one ( I have a pretty high end 8 core, 16 threads CPU gaming laptop, with RTX 2070, RAM 32GB) Voila, first it showed connected to wifi and no internet acces!, my internal wifi card alwasy connected well, bought this one as my internal wifi card was not able to reach all of the 1Gbps bandwidth that I have . After few minutes, my wifi router name disappeared, I went to my iphone and tablet to see what happened, both dont show up my router in the list any more, most likely this messed up with the wifi packets/MTU or something like that and the router stopped functioning, I did a power on/off cycle on the router, unplugged the device (night hawk) from my laptop and my router came back up again, this I tried like 3 times . What puzzles me is this wifi adapter did something which affected my wifi router and it was basically hung I guess (I could still the the router was on and its white light was on), Whatever it is, if something makes you research on google for 3 hours after you buy it to make it work (I did not find a solution though), then there is no point. This is a world of plug and play! I do read on the comments one of the buyers had a similar issue with Xfinity router.. guess this product is not Quality Tested enough! Went back and returned it.. what a hassle and looks can be deceiving. if you have a xfinity router the latest one, dont even think of buying this.... `

We only have hot spots at work. We needed this to access the Internet. I can access the Internet most of the time.

This WiFi usb receiver works just as good as most of the cheaper ones. I’m in a rural area and I had more issues with using this technical setup than with a simple plug in adapter with no dock or cable to connect to computer.
