I got this to replace my Mom's combination modem/router, and it's working very well. I had tried to urge her to consider a separate modem and mesh router system, as I use at home, but she wanted to minimize the clutter. This has good range, reaching far downstairs with faster speeds than the prior system (with 75% compared to 100% upstairs).
It does have 5G, but it's an entirely separate band. That means you have to log off the 2.4 band and then log into the 5G. I guess I'm spoiled by my Orbi, which hands me off to whatever band would give me the strongest signal at that time, automatically. So, when you look on your device for all the available wifi signals, you'll see broadcast just from this modem/router the 2.4 and 5 G bands, as well as the 2.4 and 5 G guest network bands (should you enable them).
Overall, a very good product, easily delivering fast speeds. If you're wanting better wifi coverage in your larger or complicated home, and don't mind spending more and having a separate router with at least one satellite, then I would go with the Orbi.

After initial install relocated closer to middle of house and now have good signal everywhere. Our house is about 2000 s.f.
We just switched to Xfinity and have not had any issues with speed, buffering.

My old Netgear modem/router started dropping out intermittently. It worked well for 5 years so I thought I'd stick with them. I got the AC1900 and it worked great for about a month. My download speeds were faster than my old modem and no more dropped internet. Then the 5GHz band started dropping out. The 2.4GHz band always worked fine. I used Netgear's online support which had me reset everything and change channels, none of which helped. Then they closed my case without it being resolved. I ended up returning the router under warranty and ordering another one which is working fine. The product would be great if I didn't have reservations about their quality and tech support.

NETGEAR - Nighthawk Dual-Band AC1900 Router with 24 x 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - Black was very easy to setup and has been working perfectly for some time now. The dual WiFI channels allows me to route traffic between the channels. It is a little spendy but worth the price in my eyes.

I have been suffering with an antiquated modem and separate router for years but finally decided to put myself out of my misery and upgrade. This product finally allows me to utilize the fast internet download speed I've been paying for but which was strangled by my old equipment. And it was unbelievably simple to install by following the Quick Install instructions. Just connect it and let your computer or other devices find the new modem, type in the password and you're virtually done. It also connects automatically to Comcast's Xfinity to allow you to complete your registration. I am very pleased with this purchase.

My internet provider likes to try to rent you a modem/router combo for a monthly fee. About a year ago, I bought my own modem and router to avoid this fee. It worked for a while, but I wanted a speed boost.
I purchased this product because of the advertised speed boost and because it's an all-in-one solution (modem and router). I immediately noticed a huge speed boost. My internet is now actually faster than the maximum speed advertised by my provider in my plan.
Set-up was a breeze. I literally just plugged it in and was ready to go. You just need to make sure you register the device with your internet provider.

I am running Comcast's mid to upper tier of internet service, the units provided by them do not perform well above mid-grade internet service, due to their limitations.
This unit is a solid choice for those who want an all in one unit (modem amd router)
Has good range on the WiFi, built in 4 port gigabit switch, very easy to configure and set up.
It took more time to get rid of my old hardware than to plug in and activate the new hardware (Comcast folks can self activate just by plugging in the coax, power, and Ethernet - open a web browser and you will be redirected to your Comcast activation page- log in and follow the instructions - 10 minutes max)
This thing will pay for itself within a 20 months in saving from fees and is better.

This device is a combined modem and router. I used it to replace my rented cable modem and separate router connected to the cable modem. The modem part of this device was easy to set up in that it just involved a call to the cable provider. The router component was set up very simply and easily using software supplied by the supplier to set the old network name and password that I used on my separate router connected to the cable supplied modem. All of my computers, printers and etc. all seamlessly connected to the device without any further effort on my part. When I think of the monthly modem rental fee saved, the use of this device was a no brainer.

We bought this a few weeks ago before school started as there appeared to be a shortage of these online. Best Buy had them in stock and was delivered two days later. Very easy to set up, we have Spectrum (says it’s compatible with all the major providers). Plugged it in to the cable line and It recognized it right away. I used the app and it pretty much did the rest. I did have to call Spectrum to have them reset it when I was done (Spectrum online didn’t see it when I looked on my account online). Otherwise it instantly connected with a stronger signal went from 10 mbs to 40 mbs. Worked well right away.

The setup is easy. Mostly plug and play. Stop paying the internet companies your hard earned money just to borrow their equipment. Bite the inital fee and save your money for the life of the router.

I switched my internet service from Verizon FiOS to Cox and, unlike Verizon, Cox allows the use of a customer owned Modem/Router and even has a list of the ones they approve of on their website. A relative had setup Cox internet service in another city for a friend and advised me that this Netgear Nighthawk was the modem/router he installed and was blown away at the wi-fi speed he got from it. Now this is an expensive modem/router compared to other models but in this case you do get what you pay for. My Cox internet service is for 100MB speed and I am actually getting a consistent 125-130 MB on my devices that accept the AC level speed. Those that don't will sooner or later be upgraded and I'll be ready as this device can receive up to a 960MB signal. Be careful when searching for this device as there are other Netgear Nighthawk routers that do not include the DOCSIS 3.0 certified modem in the router which helps the system operate very efficiently as one unit.

After researching several models that were supposed to work with Comcast Xfinity, I selected this one based on other customer ratings and price. The set up was fairly easy with the help of Comcast's customer service, though I did have to call more than once to get fully connected on all of my devices. So far, I'm happy with my connection and my router has weathered several storms without a hitch. I am in a fairly new apartment (under 10 years old) so that could have something to do with it. And Bestbuy gave me a great price on this product! The price match and additional discount made for an excellent customer experience for me.

I needed a new router, but couldn't afford to spend more than $200. We are not gamers it was easy to set up and connect with direct tv, and all our devices.no more buffering ,everything connects much faster.

I was looking to buy a router/modem to keep from having to rent one for my Xfinity service. So far, I haven't had any issues with this one. My internet is really fast, and I don't have the dead zones in my house that I've had in the past.
The set up process for this was super easy and fast. But, if you are using this for Xfinity, be aware that you will probably have to call them to activate the router and register it with their system.
I also really like the app that accompanies this router. It lets me know about the speed of my internet, coverage in my house, and what devices are connected to my network.
Highly recommend!

It's an excellent modem/router for a two story house. Very good range and covers pretty much entire house. Performance is great for online streaming content. I had no difficulty in installing and setup.

I live in high density housing and my old Arris 802.11n residental gateway could not compete with the 50+ other wireless networks within range. After researching this issue, I found this AC router was what I needed. It was very easy to replace my existing Comcast residential gateway (didn't require a call to Comcast) and within minutes I was up and running at full speed! I can use my devices in any room without any signal degradation. After doing a wireless survey, I even found an unused channel in my area, so my wireless signal is unimpeded by the surrounding neighbor's WiFi devices. This unit also has a NAS feature, which is very easy to use and is recoqnized by my other network devices. Great value, performance and features!

I've gone through plenty of different routers and Extenders trying to speed up my internet and reach rooms across the house that previously saw connectivity issues. With the Nighthawk AC1900 Router my internet speeds in even the furthest parts of the house began seeing 80+ MBPS, and devices that were hardwired via an ethernet have seen upwards of 400 MBPS.
The whole system was really easy to set up, and the instructions are very simple to follow.
If you are looking for a solution to your internet problems, this is the product for you.
