My Time Warner wifi was very slow and tech support recommended this expensive router saying you get what you pay for. He rewired our smart TV which streams netflix, amazon, etc. to the router directly and then I bought this netgear to take care of the other wifi devices in my 2600 sq ft. home. It appeared to speed up my internet to about 50mbs download speed (I subscribe to 100mbs), so not perfect but a lot better. I'm getting a visa card rewards card for subscribing to so that defrayed the expensive cost quite a bit. Do price match.

NETGEAR - Nighthawk AC1900 Wi-Fi Router with Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem - Black works well.

So far this products is great. Just signed up with Comcast as a provider, and I didn't want to rent their router. Technician came to "install" internet and it was pretty much the technician telling me what and how to install and add information to the Netgear Nighthawk app. This took about an hour due to connectivity an activation issues. After that, everything has been running smoothly.

The USB port for back-up purposes is the main reason I purchased this cable modem/router/wifi. The port does not work. Don't pay for the USB port. The positives: The integral unit minimizes the wiring and connections, saving space and messy wiring. The router part: ethernet-connected computers & printers work well. The WIFI does well with the dual band. Lots of features including a guest access. Negatives: The USB Port and support information. I spent hours with the nice support technicians who do not have the right information to solve the problem. The list of acceptable hard drives is mostly obsolete – you cannot buy many of those hard drives. I tried several hard drives, followed all directions, and my network system could not find the hard drives. I now have to back-up by plugging the hard drive into each computer when I want to back-up, or network thru computers to the computers’ USB port which has some issues. I would not pay extra for a USB port. Find another approach.
