I was very excited to get this to up my Internet. However I have Verizon and they will not allow another modem from outside they’re reach. So I had to return this. And I got the same exact thing from Verizon and have to rent it at $12 a month. It works great I’m sure the one that Best Buy sells would also work great. If you have a Verizon do not buy this

I have Xfinity and had a Motorola gateway. We had a hard time streaming movies from DirectTV without another device running, with a device it would just stop. This unit was extremely easy to setup (no longer than 15 minutes on the Xfinity website) and simple plug in. Now, we can stream and use tablets, laptops, phones, etc. This is an excellent piece of hardware. We have a large (4,000 sq. ft.) two story home and the upstairs reception is excellent. i also receive good reception in the basement. Highly recommend.

i was a little skeptical about the whole "significantly noticeable" difference between my Cisco (8x4) and this Netgear before the purchase...and I couldn't believe after I installed it. All my WiFi linked household tech items are working faster when loading and/or uploading. Wow! even my WiFi operated ADT security cameras have a better clear video resolution and seamless loading upon remotely (any distance) viewing on my phone. I am happy with this investment! PS. very easy set up!

Was switching over from Uverse to Comcast so I wanted to buy my own modem/router rather than pay monthly rental charges to Comcast. This one looked like what I needed, even saying it supported Comcast. Brought it home and hooked it up, but couldn't get it to work. All the lights would light up momentarily but then go back to blinking. This cycle continued. Spent over an hour on chat with Comcast trying to get it activated. Finally they said they would have to send out one of their techs, but it would cost me $70 if the problem wasn't due to them. When the tech came out a couple of days later the first thing he did was hook up their Comcast router/modem and all the lights came on and stayed on. He said I had a bad router/modem, but said he wasn't going to charge me since he had only been there 5 minutes and the Comcast person on the chat should have been able to tell me that. So I took the router/modem back to Best Buy and got a replacement. Hooked it up and all the lights came on! Called in to activate the new router/modem and they couldn't get it to activate. Finally they realized that the problem was that they had the router/modem serial number and MAP address from the first router/modem. They changed it to the new router numbers and it seemed to work , but then I still wasn't able to get an internet connection. The SID showed up, but wouldn't take my password off the router. Comcast again said they would send out a tech at no charge, but I decided to wait and try some more things myself. Finally I hooked up my laptop to the router/modem directly through the ethernet connections. I was able to enter the password and everything connected! Everything has worked fine over the last week, but what a hassle!

This modem/router combo is great! The app lets you see and control all devices connected to your internet. It also has two different wifi ranges if need be. 3.0 cable only allows certain internet speeds which will be fine for most consumers. Even online gaming.

The Netgear Nighthawk has worked very well

Since I’ve bought the Nighthawk replacing my old Netgear my connection to the WiFi throughout the house seems to be a lot better. I live in a two story and before I needed to use a extender but with this it reaches upstairs effortlessly. Hooking it up was simple and the instructions given for the steps on the computer come with it and were helpful. Might be a little more on the expensive side but with the amount of devices and type of work I do it was a must to help with the internet not lagging along. My internet does though seem to drop here and there in connection but nothing to serious. I definitely recommend this product

Good replacement for a retired Netgear modem/route

Seems better than my former Netgear modem/router but I was disappointed that set-up and control was only via smartphone. You would think a quality manufacturer would make these possible by whatever device and operating system it works with. I like the upright structure of this which is better at dissipating any heat it generates. It seems more "powerful" in handling more devices at once than my old one. I'm in a small apartment so I can't really comment on its range but it does well for where I'm at.
