    reliable. don't recommend basement setup unless you plan on connecting via LAN in basement. otherwise I'd put it on main level for increased connectivity reliability and speed..

    I abandoned Frontier DSL in December 2019 and didn’t want to pay Comcast $14/mo for equipment rental. Set up was easy and connection speeds were consistent with my Xfinity plan for wired devices and WiFi devices on first two floors of our 2,000 sq. ft. home. We did have to buy a mesh extender to boost signal on the second floor. (Router in basement, two floors below). Over 10 months we experienced intermittent loss of connectivity to both hardwired computers and WiFi connected devices, which Comcast always attributed to the 3rd party equipment. Connectivity issues became all too frequent in October 2020, so I picked up an Xfinity gateway (Arris TG1682G) so I could determine if it was a line issue or an equipment issue. In the last two weeks I’ve had ZERO dropouts with the Xfinity gateway. Still using the mesh extender to boost signal upstairs, but the Xfinity gateway is performing head and shoulders above the Netgear.

    this product does its job but i have had to reset it atleast 2 times in the past month for to regain connectivity but beats paying the extra rental cost from xfinity.
