Drops connection frequently poor Netgear support

This Modem/Router work great for the first 2 months, then it started to drop the cable connection. I would have to reboot it through the Nighthawk app, or manually by unplugging it, and then it would reconnect to the cable connection, but the connection would drop again within 15mins to a few hours. I contacted Netgear who had me try all the things I had already done, power cycle it, factory reset, changing channels...etc. The multiple disconnects continued. I have Xfinity ISP so I reached out to them multiple times as well. Their response was everything was good on their end, and they just could not see my modem until I rebooted it. To rule out the ISP completely I reinstalled our older Arris Modem/Router, and the problem has gone away completely for the last 3 weeks!! Yet Netgear has yet to warranty or resolve my issues. They closed my first ticket after a 3rd response to try the same things again, even though I had promptly responded to all other requests. This modem requires multiple reboots a day to keep a connection. It will drop downloads, video conferencing, and anything else at any time. The Wifi was not affected just the cable connection is lost. I assume by other reviews that I just got a dud. but I can't afford to reconnect and reconfigure this C7000v2 router, to be left with multiple drops during a time of online learning, and working. It would be nice to see Netgear stand behind their faulty product and offer a replacement rather than making me re-diagnosis an issue with their product at my expense. As of now I won't buy another Netgear product and will encourage all others to do the same!

I recently went over to PS Vue for my TV, and was having some issues with it unexpectedly buffering, which I thought were down to my old modem, so I settled on this product. It didn't solve anything - in fact, it made matters worse. What I found was that it doesn't handle IPv6 addresses properly - any IPv6 capable device (wired or wireless) on the network would randomly reassign itself an IP address that was outside of the "block" reserved in the router - often, it was an address in Tokyo City Hall! (Note: I have screenshots to prove it). When this happened, the router would perceive it as being under a DoS attack and towards the end, would lock up completely in these circumstances. Disabling IPv6 in the device in question stopped it having an issue, but there's no way to disable it either in Apple devices or completely disable it in the router itself. I had my phone and internet provider (Spectrum) enable internet on the phone modem, switched over to it and have seen no issues since. From some online research, I'm not the only person seeing this sort of thing on Netgear products. Overall, a very disappointing experience from a supposed "market leader" in networking.

Purchased this unit new in 2023.. Had issues with it since the start. Spectrum and Netgear techs agreed it wouldn't work as it was too new and the Spectrum signal could not handle the feed. Netgear agreed and said to try in a few months. Could not bring it back as I was past the return date. Decided to install it this year ( 2025) and still same issue.. even with the new firmware. Worthless...

Bought this hoping that it would expand the reach of my wifi to the other end of my house and the range is not that much better than the cable modem from my cable service provider going to have to probably get a WiFi extender it's a great product just didn't do what I was hoping it to do.
