    One of the best Router/Modem combos

    This is one of the best Router/Modem combos you can buy. I previously purchased a less powerful Router/Modem combo and had little/no signal in many parts of my house. After extensive research I decided to purchase this unit because of all it features and specifications. Once I installed it I was blown away by the performance. I am have the Xfinity Blast! plan with 150 MBPS. I ran a speed test in several different rooms to see how well it preformed. I have a large, well constructed house (4000+ square feet) with several concrete walls. The unit was centrally located on the first floor and I needed a good connection in the basement as well as on the second floor. I found that I got the best performance when using 5GHz. Speed test results below (5GHz) -Directly next to the unit: --Download: 180 MBPS / Upload: 12 MBPS -far end of 2nd floor (about 100ft from unit) --Download: 170MBPS / Upload: 12MBPS -far end of basement (about 100 feet from unit, separated by 2 concrete walls) --Download 140MBPS/ Upload: 10MBPS I am extremely happy with the results of the tests. I am often getting higher speeds than I am even paying for. The unit provides a strong signal anywhere in the house. This router/modem combo is a excellent choice is you have a large home with concrete construction and need an extremely powerful unit.

    I was told by a best buy salesman this unit would resolve my problem of boosting my internet connection to my tv for Netflix and Amazon. After installing and boosting my internet speed I have even more problems. I wouldn't recommend this product or puchasing another product from bestbuy!

    Had intermittent problems throughout, 10 months after purchase the thing called it quits. Called NetGear for assistance would only help if purchased their 6-12 month warranty for 90-150$ as I needed internet connection asap to finish something urgent and I had no car to run to my local store, I went with the short warranty. The answer, reset the thing with a paperclip in the back.

    Called Netgear and they now wanted another $39 to send someone out to see why my bandwidth had deceased.... Would not recommend this product. This is my second and the same thing happened to the first one although I did manage to get a number of years of correct use with that one!

    I'm not sure why, but the combo units seem to not work as well as separate modem and routers. The speeds should have been faster with this unit since it is an improvement from what I had on multiple levels, but everything slowed down and wireless connections got dropped frequently.

    Must’ve got a faulty router. Keeps dropping out and takes hours to get the internet working again. My five year router that I bought this one to replace worked better. Is there a way to return/trade it in? Very unhappy with the purchase especially since it was a more expensive router.

    Disappointed in this purchase as you are unable to connect your phone through it. By the time we were told that by optimum we were unable to exchange it for one that accommodates a phone line as it was after 14 days. Now we are stuck with this and a separate modem.

    Wi-Fi performance is routinely bad, even for devices near the router. Wired connections work great though (hence the two stars)
