    I gave it only 3 stars because it is not for land line phones. It said on outside of box that it was not for bundled phone service. I bought a Motorola MT7711 that also had wifi, and Comcast phone. Returned router was still in unopened box.

      Hi Wrongtype,

      You will have to purchase a modem that is designed for land line phone service. The NETGEAR Modems end with a "V" on the model number. The CM1150V or CM500V are models that will work for phone service.

    I had and continue to have so many problems with this product. I have comcast wifi. I bought this to pay less by using my own router. It had been nothing but problems. I have to keep unplugging it. It keeps going down & multiple devices accessing it causes it to crash.

    Less than a year after buying this, the 2.4 Ghz band started acting funny and all my connected devices lost connection. Only the 5G band works now. Wish there was a way i could return this and get my money back.

    It worked well while it lasted (about 2 months), BUT Even when connected to a surge protector (2880 Joules) and a coax surge protector it stopped working - lights indicated okay, but no signal.

    Unstable 5G Signal

    I am very disappointed with this purchase. The 5G WiFi is signal is very unstable and keeps dropping even in the proximity of the router. I have had to reboot my router frequently just to ensure that the 5G WiFi signal is restored.

    I could not connect my cables to this and because of Covid-19 I cannot return to store or get help/resolution on what would possibly work for me. Very disappointed in this purchase. Might be a good Modem but we will never know, it is still in the box.

    Do not recommend if you have Xfinity internet service. Had internet connection issues every two days. Returned and purchase a cheaper and stable unit. Motorola - Dual-Band AC1900 Router with 16 x 4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Model:MG7550 SKU:5619201

    Stopped working after 7 months. Best Buy warranty is 30 days. NETGEAR only stands behind it for 90 days. If you want more support, you have to another $130 for tech support. No thanks.

    The worst purchase ever! Have had an IT professional here twice to install it, he is unable to. Told me to take it back. Have been unable to because the Terre Haute Best Buy is unavailable due to the Corona virus 19. It is sitting in its box.

    Set it up according to instructions, no wifi signal. Reconnected the rented comcast modem/router, strong signal. Tried again with the Netgear, no signal. Very irritating. I'll return this product and I guess I'll just have to pay for the rental. Ugh.

    Bought it, tried to install it myself, no go. Called tech support and had them send out a tech who spent an hour on it and told me "bad unit" and then opened up a COX router plugged it in and bingo the COX box worked like a charm.

    Worst product. I would not recommend. It doesn’t support minimum internet speed mentioned in the description. Don’t waste your money on it. And very bad customer service.

    I would not recommend this product to anyone. I started having issues with right before the factory warranty. They wanted you buy extra warranty order to fix. And I noticed a lot of people having issue with NetGear products
