Great Reliable Product of 3 Years!!

I’ve been using this modem router combo (gateway) for 3 years now and I have loved it ever since. I was getting tired of paying for Comcast’s gateway of $14 per month and having a mediocre piece of technology. This gateway exceeded Comcast’s in speed, reliability and performance. I am thinking to upgrade soon to a new gateway and will most likely go with Netgear because of the success I have had with my current one. If you are thinking of making the switch to owning your own gateway, I would highly recommend Netgear!

    Great, fast cable modem/router

I bought this to replace my Comcast/Xfinity supplied cable modem/router. I had tried two previous routers before, one being a Motorola which couldn't connect and a Netgear, which also had an issue connecting. This Netgear router had no problems, it was connected and running in five minutes and have pushed my speeds from around 4 mbps to 84 mbps. I am thrilled. The coverage is also great, with solid coverage in all rooms and the basement, where before I couldn't leave the room I had the router set-up in. I am very happy and have already been telling everyone I know to ditch their cable provided router with this. Well worth the price!!!

OK for regular use, but not fast enough if you have 600+ cable service. A little outdated with new modem and router now offering Docsis 3.1 and Wi-Fi 6.

I received the Nighthawk AC1900 product as part of the NETGEAR Friends & Family program. The installation was quick and easy to my surprise. Since I am already a Comcast/XFinity customer, I just followed the User Guide’s step by step instructions to activate the Nighthawk AC1900 device. After about 15-20 minutes, I was reconnected online! The upload/download connection speeds are amazing compared to my old non-DOCSYS product. I tested the connection using www.speedtest.net. So far, no issues.

    Works Fine

Very easy to setup and no noticeable difference in speed or performance as compared to the Comcast modem / router that it replaced. Test results from various sites did show a slightly higher download speed than what I was getting with the Comcast modem but again, it wasn't really noticeable. Upload speed test was Identical to the Comcast modem. As of 4/7/19 I have only owned it for two months and my son has had his for about four months. So far so good. I wish I bought a modem a long time ago instead of paying those monthly fees to Comcast over the years. I never had a Comcast (Cisco) modem go bad and am hoping for the same results with this Netgear modem / router. Savings will start to be realized after 15 months.

    Huge improvement

I bought this because I was looking at repeaters and stumbled across it. It was expensive but for a modem router from a good brand name I was willing (maybe even desperate) to get proper download speeds in my bedroom/office as I only have one coax jack on the opposite side of my 1960s apartment. I'm happy to report this was slick to set up, has been consistent and definitely delivers the speed and configuration options I wanted. Sometimes I sit in my bedroom and pull up speedtest.net just to admire the massive difference - I've never had three-digit download speeds in this room in the 8 years I've lived here, and that opens up new possibilities for 4k tvs and streaming where I really want it in my home. Awesome, as advertised.

Easy to set up had it for a week so far so good no more buffering I had the next one down from this don't waste your money this one works way better. the NETGEAR AC1750 C6300 end up dying on me. I should have known there was something wrong with it when I had to restart it every other day. the AC1900 I haven't had to restarted it yet . the only reason why I gave it a four star because only had it for a week.

    Cox 0 Netgear 3

This does work with cox, but you will have to call in. The online tool to set up a modem is probably in the top 10 worst things of 2020 and it is looking like it will go for the top spot for decades to come. :). The Netgear c7000 was a breeze to set up. If you were to compare this router to the cox model we had, the Netgear c7000 is like Godzilla and the cox model is a skyscraper in Japan. Basically, the Netgear C7000 wrecks any of the cox models to the point where a new one only makes sense. TLDR- call in to set up the router, cox has a deal with the devil.

This is my review of Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi cable modem router model C7000. I am reviewing this unit through the Netgear Family and Friends program. The router has a nice slick design and is stable when it is placed on a flat surface. The installation instructions are very clear and easy to follow and provides instructions on how to connect it to xfinity cable system. It took me a few minutes to set it up. The router has a fast speed and provides a good coverage radius. My experience with this router has been positive.

Not a good choice for more advanced users

First the good: As a modem, this is actually a very good unit. After some initial problems due to house cabling that I resolved, it proved to be a very fast modem capable of providing all the speed I was paying for (300Mbps/20Mbps). Also, as a wireless access point to my network, it was also very good. Despite not having any external antenna it was (at the time) easily the strongest signal in my house with excellent reach despite being in a challenging environment with multiple floors, steel support beams and HVAC ducting in the line-of-sight path to several devices. Overall, if your needs are simple and you just want one device for modem, router and WiFi, this is a good choice. HOWEVER, the fact that CableLabs certification limits the router functions that are integrated with the modem functions, and possibly some of Netgear's poor decisions relating to router functionality, make this product entirely unsuitable for those who need detailed control of their network. One example is that there is nowhere in the router configuration to set the local time and time zone. This leaves you to depend on the NTP time from the ISP to be correct and in many cases ISPs do not correct for Daylight Saving Time. As a result there was no way for me to correct the time being off by one hour, which prevented a number of my cloud-oriented devices from connecting to their cloud services. Another example is that there is no port-range forwarding to allow forwarding a port to multiple IP addresses, leaving me with no way to forward a single port to multiple IP cameras. And once a port is forwarded to one IP address you can't forward the same port to another address. If those complaints go over your head, then you probably have a simple network and would be OK using this device. If they make you cringe, you probably have enough network know-how and a complex enough network to steer clear of this product and put your money into more capable and flexible equipment..

    Netgeer is really Good

This product cost $300.00 for a reason. It says what it does and does what it says. Anyone who had or has an issue with this product needs to get a new one as the one you purchased could be a dud. The Netgear is very advanced and is working on all my products very well indeed. iPhone 6, iPad Mini, iPad Air 2, iMac 27, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and a Mac Mini seem to be getting very strong signals throughout the house and puts to shame the router that Time Warner Cable supplied me with and had the audacity to charge me $8.00 and that price is going up to $10.00 in 2 days. This product not only will pay for itself, it just smokes anything out there. Unfortunately I have slow speeds of 61Mpbs but in about 3 to 4 months TWC said I should be receiving 300Mbps and this bad boy will take that on and then some. DO NOT hesitate to buy this product. For anyone not rating this product a 5 do not know how to set it up and or need a check up from the neck up. My old modem/router is like a Honda Accord and this is like a 2016 BMW M3. I know only guys buy these things so that is why I put in the car enology.

Purchased for install with XFINITY. Tech had to search for a minute to find it on the list, but install was quick and have not had a single issue from day 1. It's been 6 months and have never even had to reset it. Netgear app (genie) is quirky but basics are useful. Will tell you best channels to use in your location based on surounding usages. And allow you to change from app. Channel bonding is a plus and allows for 87 mbps when i only subscribe to 75mbps. Would recommend to anyone who needs a cable modem/gateway.
