Disappointed with Connectivity

Owned for 10 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I abandoned Frontier DSL in December 2019 and didn’t want to pay Comcast $14/mo for equipment rental. Set up was easy and connection speeds were consistent with my Xfinity plan for wired devices and WiFi devices on first two floors of our 2,000 sq. ft. home. We did have to buy a mesh extender to boost signal on the second floor. (Router in basement, two floors below). Over 10 months we experienced intermittent loss of connectivity to both hardwired computers and WiFi connected devices, which Comcast always attributed to the 3rd party equipment. Connectivity issues became all too frequent in October 2020, so I picked up an Xfinity gateway (Arris TG1682G) so I could determine if it was a line issue or an equipment issue. In the last two weeks I’ve had ZERO dropouts with the Xfinity gateway. Still using the mesh extender to boost signal upstairs, but the Xfinity gateway is performing head and shoulders above the Netgear.

Great device

Once I downloaded the app , hookup was easy. I'm able to use 8 devices at once with good speed connections without buffering.
