Worked for 1 year and WiFi Got slowed down

Initially I was using 300 mbps plan. Later I updated it to 600 mbps ( as this is the max speed supported by router) but the speed I get max through WiFi is 150 mbps where as Ethernet gives 620 mbps. Feeling sad as to waste money to buy a new one

My last modem decided to quit on me, so I thought I'd try an all-in-one modem/router combo. I was not impressed with this device. Coverage is ok, but the throughput speeds are horrible unless you're right next to the device. I eventually dumped this device and went with an Arris modem and a D-Link router.

This thing is trash. I've owned it for a year and this thing constantly drops signal daily. I've tried factory resets on the unit but it doesn't help. Beware if you get this unit as you'll see in the logs unusual activity such as ping of death in the netgear logs. Don't believe me, Google this model number and ping of death and you'll see the forums with no solution to this issue.

I purchased this after the modem my internet company provided couldn't push the wifi speeds I was paying for. This modem claims to reach the speed I should get, but was actually worse than the used equipment from the ISP.

Router was defective right out of the box but Netgear kept blaming Verizon until the return period ended and it was too late to return to the store. Tech support was not helpful at all and was wrong about everything. Customer service also gave me the runaround for weeks.

It was worked great until for about a week until my kids came home and now websites freeze constantly. I'm averaging 50Mbps on 100Mbps Spectrum Cable . My previous 4 year old modem and router worked way better than this. Together, I only had to reset them when my kids were home and all of them were using the WiFi. Now, I'm constantly having to reset this crap every 10 to 15 minutes even when I'm alone and have just one device connected. I haven't added any new devices since I got this . I should have done better research before wasting almost $200 dollars.

The router/modem did work fine for year and half. Then one morning, there was no wifi signal. All LEDs had gone to solid (green or amber) state. Issuing factory reset did not make any difference. Appears to be defective HW.

    Impressive Router Modem Package

I received for free this modem as part of the Netgear friends and family program to review. Overall i am very pleased with its performance and highly recommend the product for those who are looking for a no compromise all-in-one solution for your modem and router. Setup - Getting the modem up and running could not have been an easier experience. After plugging the new modem in connecting the the internet was as simple as opening the browser and following the directions on the Time Warner Activate my Modem page which was automatically detected. A minute or two later i was fully connected with no fuss. A simple change of the SSID through the Netgear Genie interface and the rest of my devices were soon back online. Total time from taking the modem out of the box to fully operational was less than five minutes. For those who inclined to dig though the settings to adjust everything to your specifications all of the standard options are available and for those who want the easiest solution to get connected this modem fits the bill as well. Features - The C7000 offers all of the features one would expect from a device of this level. Wireless AC connectivity and DOCSIS 3.0 are included. One feature shared with the C6300 that can be sometimes overlooked but come in handy is the the USB port on the back for making media available through the media server client or as a option for networking a printer. An annditional item i appreciated about this device is that its footprint is slightly smaller than the C6300 and it visually is a more appealing device to look at. Performance - My basis of comparison for performance is against the Netgear C6300. On the software side the two devices are very similar . It is the hardware aspect of the devices where the the differences become noticeable. The first thing i noticed was how fast the device was able to boot up. It is very apparent the processor in the C7000 is a step up over the C6300. The C6300 offers great range and the C7000 is every bit as good. I live in a townhome and with many neighbors and not noticed any interference whatsoever. The range easily covers the entirety of my place and provides great performance throughout the house. With a 300mbps connection i had no trouble running netflix on one tv, while streaming music through a local server, and watching espn on my pc at the same time over a wireless connection. Value - Overall i think the C6300 might offer better value for the money for average users as it is a very capable device in it own right but for those who will push their router and modem to the limits the C7000 does offer good value for its price. In relative terms considering the price that TWC changes for their modem/router to the C7000 i certainly think it makes for an attractive option as it will cover its cost in rental fees in 2 years and is hands down a better solution.

I bought this one based on many other reviews. I wanted to have my own router so I return my x-finity rented one. I used the Netgear router for 24 hours then it stopped working after I did a reset. Contacted two technical support individuals at Netgear and they suggested me to return it as it may have a manufacturing defect. I'm back to the rented x-finity router :(
