    Drops Wifi All the time

I have had this router for over 6 months and continue to have issues with it dropping wifi connections to my devices. After several calls and hours on the phone with Netgear they are still unable to solve the problem. Connection is fine with no drops with other brands of routers. Stay away from this router, don't waste your money.

The router failed out of the box

I had used Netgear in the past and was confident that this would be a good purchase, however, the device failed out of the box. It would not stay connected. The Geek Squad member who helped set up my network recommended that I return it. I replaced it with a Linksys router from Best Buy and have been very pleased with the new router.

    Great Router, Great Performance

    Posted .

Full Disclosure: I received this modem/router for free via a beta testing program Generally I am very pleased with the performance on the Nighthawk AC1900 modem/router. I prefer an all-in-one solution, rather than having a separate modem and router, and this product does a wonderful job. Setup - Installation was a breeze. Simply locate it in the area of your home you wish, connect the coax cable and power it up. Using Comcast/Xfinity's self activation page was simple and the router was operating in less than five minutes. Changing the SSID through the Netgear Genie interface is easy as well and soon the rest of my devices were back online. Total time from taking the modem out of the box to fully operational was less than five minutes. For those who like to tweak though the settings to adjust everything to your likings, the interface makes it all available. Features - The C7000 offers all of the features one would expect from a device of this level. Wireless AC connectivity and DOCSIS 3.0 are included. The included USB port is very handy. Makes it simple to share media and other files across your home network, or even on the go away from home. Speed is outstanding. With the channel bonding and high throughput, I can use every last single Mbps of my 100Mbps Xfinity connection. Stream multiple HD videos at the same time? No problem! Range is very good as well, especially since my home is brick and the router is unideally located in a corner. Value - Pricey, but feature and performance per dollar, it is probably worth it.

Save your money and just rent a router through Xfinity or Fios. This router lasted about 6 months and gave me so many issues in months 7 and 8 and I can't return it anywhere.

    Slow download speeds

I am not even getting a 1/3 of what my download speed should be. 150mbps on 5g is ridiculous. My speeds should be at least 600mbps. I have exchanged units with the same result. My ISP has no issues on their end.

our internet service provider is not the best so this product is useless for us. It's suppose to assist us with the speed but it was horrible like dial up back in the day. I don't blame the device as much as our service provider and the hill billy area I reside. it sucked for us!

If you're using with Spectrum/Time Warner you can't update the firmware, set the correct time, setup parental controls or setup the blocking service. Wish I'd realized it in time to return this piece of garbage. Netgear's support is worthless.

Because of illness I missed my 30 days to bring this back or else you would have it back now. I paid way more for this than my last one because the salesperson said it would be good, on top of that I increased my internet speed from 50 to 200 and I have worse problems now with downloads, connection, everything!!

Did not automatically connect to cox. It said Cox compatible on the box, so i assumed it would be easy to do. It wasn’t. Still sitting in a corner next to my Cox box because I can’t return opened electronics. So it’s a paper weight now.

I gave it only 3 stars because it is not for land line phones. It said on outside of box that it was not for bundled phone service. I bought a Motorola MT7711 that also had wifi, and Comcast phone. Returned router was still in unopened box.

      Hi Wrongtype,

You will have to purchase a modem that is designed for land line phone service. The NETGEAR Modems end with a "V" on the model number. The CM1150V or CM500V are models that will work for phone service.

      Thank you

It worked well while it lasted (about 2 months), BUT Even when connected to a surge protector (2880 Joules) and a coax surge protector it stopped working - lights indicated okay, but no signal.

I had and continue to have so many problems with this product. I have comcast wifi. I bought this to pay less by using my own router. It had been nothing but problems. I have to keep unplugging it. It keeps going down & multiple devices accessing it causes it to crash.

I am very disappointed with this purchase. The 5G WiFi is signal is very unstable and keeps dropping even in the proximity of the router. I have had to reboot my router frequently just to ensure that the 5G WiFi signal is restored.
