Horrible product! Do NOT buy anything from NetGear

Our modem only worked for 5 months when the wireless feature stopped working. We tried to return this piece of junk, but was told by Best Buy that there is only a 90 day replacement warranty. I then went through NetGear customer support and was on the phone passed around to several agents who asked me to go through the SAME steps over and over again! After 2 1/2 hours on the phone, I was FINALLY able to get them to agree to a replacement - only to find out that the best they could do is to send a "tested" AKA "refurbished" unit. My advice - Do NOT buy this or ANY product from NetGear. You will regret it!

(Wifi and wired). Takes 30s to 3 minutes to reconnect just to drop again in the next minute or two. Poor customer service. They say it's the cable companies fault? With people all across the country having the exact same problem. They won't own their problems. I will never spend another penny on netgear trash!

Had an old Cisco Valet Plus 12 years, never a problem. Was told this was the best , can replace modem from cable company and Cisco router all in one. No thanks, $190 down the drain plus over 1 1/2 hours on phone trying to get help from NETGEAR. Going back to cable provider modem and old router. WOULD NEVER BUY NETGEAR AGAIN!!!

Do NOT buy

I did not think that my modem was the problem that was causing slow/unstable internet because it was not an old modem. Well, it turns out, it was. Upon extensive troubleshooting with the internet provider, I purchased a different modem and now my internet is working perfectly. They do not offer a good warranty (90 days) and by the time it stops working, you are out $200.

Piece of Junk~

For the past week, it kept 'resetting' it self back to default. The last 2 days, I left it on default. All it does if flash the top 3 green lights then it flashes yellow ..... after 3 hours of that this morning, I started using my old one. As for speed? What a bunch of lies. Fast.com showed NO increase in speed .... the '5G' wifi actually showed LOWER speed than regular WiFi. And it's not my computer, that was purchased on June 20th 2016

Getting 75mbps out of this Modem/router on 600mbps
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Xfinity 600mbps and VERY disappointed after running a “xfinity speed test” right next to the modem with my Ipad, I’m only getting at best 75mbps. Xfinity says everything going into the modem is Good, and of course they wont help me with my “own” modem. No one at Netgear has helped fixed the issue. Very Dissapointed!

It only support certain drives and non of them are over 3tb! I have a 8TB drive I would like to share and am unable to. Seriously, by now, there should be more support for this! If you are looking to share data with this unit, walk away. Otherwise, for general use, its fine.

Stay Away from this product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had year long issues with modem, until see the coincidence, it stopped working at on the exact eve of 1 year warranty!!! even when there was warranty, the customer service is pathetic, the are very callous towards you, do not understand what you are saying and in the end just send you to bunch of FAQ's, which do not solve anything...... Very Bad Product.... Need to get a new modem just after one year!!

Doesn't work with Comcast cable

It wasn't able to sync up to the network after booting several times. It indicated on the box model C7000v2. Spent over an hour with Comcast's tech support on the phone but they were not able to make it work. I gave up and returned it.

BEWARE 90 DAYS ONLY TECH SUPPORT $139 after that!

It died and after months after trying to get a human being to respond they wanted me to agree to $139 MINIMUM for tech support extension, even though the warranty is for 1 year. They wasted hours of my time and wanted my credit card to proceed with a call. Unbelievable! My 8 year old CISCO still pumping, I just wanted to upgrade, Disgusting business practice.

Horrible Router

Wireless doesn't have much range, I'm in a 1200 sq. ft. home and it can't reach the full length of the home. Netgear support is HORRIBLE. I have called several times and the auto attendant hangs up on me before I get to an agent, EVERY TIME. For now I'm stuck with a $300 paper weight.

Was not happy!

So remember to add $70/yr to the above price - or buy a different brand.

Doesnt work with Spectrum 1GB service

They told me it wouldnt handle 1GB service. So Im exchanging it for another Modem/Router.

Best Buy Sells Defective Modems
