MU-MIMO caused connection issues.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kept disconnecting. Realised it was after a certain laptop connected. The solution was to disable MU-MIMO which I saw recommended online. Not worth if I have to disable features like this.

5GHz Never Worked, Poor 2.4 GHz Speed
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned this for one week, the 5GHz band never worked even after hours with Netgear tech support. I pay for 200/200 internet speeds and while on the 2.4 GHz band, I was only seeing around 50/50 even while standing just feet from the router. The range was pretty good but the only thing I really liked about this router was the Netgear Nighthawk app.... Funny side note, while standing in the return line at Best Buy, I ran into someone else returning the EXACT same router for the EXACT same reasons.

Disappointing range
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointing range in my 3BR side by side unit of a duplex. Ended up returning for a mesh system even though our apartment was much smaller than the advertised square footage.

I really wanted it to work...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been with netgear for awhile so I thought purchasing this would meet my expectations but it did not. I ended up purchasing ASUS RTAX86U over this headache of a router, First off out of the box it worked fine wired as expected from any new router, but when it came to wirelessly testing the speed it gave me less than half of the speed I pay my ISP for which is simply unacceptable. I called netgear for support but ended up placed on hold for over 30 minutes so i ended up returning it.

Not thst fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.speed test showed that my old Asus is faster by a bit. Phone app control is awesome. Great product if you don't stream games, although it still works fine for that

It’s OK
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. But, if you have lots of things running on WIFI at the same time, I would go a step up to the next Netgear - Nighthawk. For example if you have lots of cameras, ring doorbells, iPhone, iPad, laptop etc.

Terrible WiFi and terrible support
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously owned a Netgear Nighthawk router(R6700) that worked great for 5+ years. It finally died four months ago, so I replaced it with this slightly nicer version(R7000P) thinking it would perform similarly. I bought it from Best Buy because they had it in stock and had curbside pickup available (during the pandemic). We started having issues with wifi connectivity within a week of setting it up, but it worked most of the time so it was easy to ignore. It would occasionally drop connections, but they would come back within a few minutes. The wifi issues continued to get worse over time to the point where our devices would be unable to connect to the local network at least once a week, sometimes more. Wired connections remained fine and the internet never went down. I've tried adjusting many settings, resetting it to factory defaults, changing radio channels (all of them), disabling 2.5ghz and 5ghz to see if one worked better than the other, but we still consistently lost connectivity. I (reluctantly) reached out to Netgear support, who refuse to accept that its a hardware problem and just keep trying to do the same diagnostics and settings adjustments. They keep suggesting I sign up for their premium support for priority assistance. They cannot fix the issue and still wont send a replacement. Best Buy support says its too late to return this piece of junk so I guess I am stuck with it.
