The most epic WFH upgrade.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I, like many others, have needed to work exclusively at home due to the pandemic. I had just moved into a new home, and the WiFi router provided to me from my ISP was a big, fat frowny face. Even thirty feet away, my signal strength was more than lacking, and getting all of my Ring security devices connected was becoming problematic. In general, I don't believe in silver bullets, but the NETGEAR - Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 Router is a true superhero, literally faster (not sure) than a speeding bullet, with connectivity stronger than The Man of Steel himself. Setup was a breeze. I first uploaded the Nighthawk app, reset my modem, plugged the router to the modem, waited a few minutes, followed prompts on the app, and within 15 minutes, my devices were all connected and flying with new confidence. I was physically connected via Ethernet to my old router, and my speeds were just over 400 Mbps. With this new router, I'm getting the same speeds, WIRELESSLY. Amazing. I cannot recommend this enough. (NOTE: my ISP is Spectrum, in case you're curious about compatibility).

Very Good. (Wifi range is less than competitors).
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Internet and wifi is important at our house as we do a lot of gaming - Xbox, mobile, and PC. I had an Asus model that was very similar but it locked up and I could not save it. So I researched the Netgear Nighthawk AC2300. It had good reviews and it was on sale. We are pleased with its performance overall. The only possible issue is its' overall wifi range isn't quite as good as the Asus but the difference is slight. It has 4 ethernet wired connections and two USB connections and that is pretty common. It also has clear markings and lights to tell you about connections and activity. There is an app you can put on your phone to manage your network too. Overall I am pleased and zero problems. I recommend this router.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a Linksys and that thing was a piece of garbage. It was blinking all the time kicking me out of the internet. I had enough of it and returned it to Best Buy thank God Best Buy is always a help and always have the best knowledge and employees. Good router for the price
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used this router for about a year now and have had no issues. You can download an app (IOS or Android) that gives you control over devices connected on your network. Simple toggle controls in the app let you turn off devices on the fly(for when one of your children needs to do some homework) Fast network speeds with good range. Would recommend.

Love at first mbps
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always been quite fond of Netgear routers. The Nighthawk does not disappoint! The 5ghz signal is working with my 300+mbps speed with no problem! And it's able to deal with my excessive smart home items just fine! I've got about a dozen or so pieces of tech running on my 2.4 network and save the faster one for things like my laptop and phone. Attached screenshot is from my phone over the 5ghz network. Just remember, your speed will always only be as fast as your slowest bottleneck!

Our older Orbi went out of us so we did some research and found this Router. It’s been a while since I’ve set one up and honestly... it was pretty easy and I installed it on the wall behind the 80 inch tv. Love it!

Q: QuestionWe have a house that is 2000 square feet with a lot of indentions, can you recommend a router that can take care of that much square footage and with multiple devices? If more than one device is used, either TV freezes up or their phones or tablets.
Asked by Indentions.
- A:Answer The NETGEAR R7000p AC2300 Router should be able to handle a 2000 square foot home with ease. We use it in a tri-level home placed in the basement of a 3600 sqft home and it works without issue. The freezing up issue can be caused by the router, or could be a service issue. I would recommend checking directly from the modem what your internet speed is. In order to stream multiple devices you need to have sufficient bandwith as well. If you have at least 7-20 meg of download capability, then the next thing I would look at would be the router. I currently use this router with over 40 devices and 250 meg of bandwith and we have no lag at all!

Q: Questionshould all the lights be lid up Some of mine are blinking is that a problem
Asked by mit1948.
- A:Answer The first 4 lights from the Left edge toward center, and the first 2 lights from the Right edge toward center, should be lit up colored White with a successful connection. Two of the lights, indicating the transmission speeds, (the 3rd and 4th from the Left), flicker as a result of the ongoing speed activities. Means it is working and traffic is moving. The lights labeled with the numbers 1 through 4, correspond to additional equipment you attach that needs an online connection, just like always. This is about as much as I know. I am not a technician, but it's what little I have learned over the years. I really like this unit, glad you have one, too. I DID need to call Tech Support to have it installed, and they were really nice and efficient throughout the whole process. Netgear Tech Support's phone number is: 1-888-638-4327

Q: QuestionA senior citizen here. I have been working for over 2 hours to get my new Netgear Router model R7000P to work. It will not connect with the internet on my new Arris Modem. What is the secret?
Asked by Help.
- A:Answer No secret, make sure the the Ethernet cable from your modem is connected to the yellow Ethernet port on the router and ensure that the router has power and turn it on, that's it! You should be able to start your setup process. If you're having trouble after that, you will need to contact your internet service provider (ISP) to help with the setup due to interference on their end! Hope this helps, enjoy!
