Too big and too confusing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router takes up a lot of desk space. It was very difficult to connect and required an hour long phone call with Netgear. I have sinced taken it off and am not using it.

Router
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not very impressed with coverage. We have an 1,100 square foot home and can’t get good coverage upstairs. Router is in basement but my old Apple time capsule had the same results

WIFI drops constantly in newest firmware
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd stay clear of this router. The router will drop the wifi for all of my connected devices periodically. It will still say that it's connected to the router, but with no internet. The wired connected devices will still be working fine while this is happening, so I can rule out my internet and modem as the problem. Netgear has no viable solutions to this except for factory resetting the router. You can read all about it online. Check any other site and their customer reviews of this router. They all complain about this exact issue. I'm not sure how best buy is flooded with so many positive reviews with this model. It's honestly quite suspicious that the reviews on bestbuy for this router are well beyond the average customer ratings on other sites such as newegg.

Bad Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this, NETGEAR - Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 Router – Black, in February 2019 from Best Buy. I downloaded the latest firmware from Netgear website, and the router cease working. I return the router to Best Buy, the service was useless, because I didn’t purchase an extended warranty I was directed to contact Netgear. Again, Netgear return policy was not in the consumer’s favor. Having read the return policy, I reached the point of diminishing return with Netgear Router. My solution was I utilized my Amazon Prime to order a Linksys Router.

The jury is out
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure if it is Cox or the router, but we did not see faster internet service when we upgraded to Gigablast, added Cox phones and bought Netgear. Lots of buffering with this router.

Didn’t work for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my old AirPort Extreme because we were not getting any reception in our upstairs Master Bedroom. This unit was no better than my 8 year old AirPort Extreme. Returned it for a Velop.

Descent but not great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked beautifully if your wired directly into it. The WiFi portion is ok. Not great. Even though you eventually get the speed out of it the WiFi is slow.

So far junk
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this router a few weeks back. I moved into a new home and hadn't upgraded my router in five six years so I decided to buy one. Bought the nighthawk. When my service guy installed my service we installed the router. It didn't want to work at first. Then after half a dozen attempts it connects. Everybody is happy. Four days later no wifi. So now I go though the process of troubleshooting what's wrong.", starting with my service provider they ended up with something is wrong with the router. So I call Netgear go though all the same steps even though I just told them just did all this. So after several minutes (being nice) they came up with the same conclusion. Huge surprise. They tell me they are going to ship out a new one. So go about my business. They send a email they will send me one out first if I pay them to do so. Otherwise I need to ship to them then they would send anew one out. So I chose to pay the $17. Then wait. Next day I'm out of town now. I get a phone call at630 in the morning yep I said 630. Woke me up. Bubbly girl that I'm sure have a caffeine drip going proceed to tell me they are not going to process the RMA enless I produce proof of purchase. Remember I'm moving and I'm out of town. I said I don't have said receipt. She said then it will not happen. Then I remembered my Best Buy looked it up found receipt sent. Got a message that said all I did was send them the Best Buy site so they still will not process. So I went to same place where info was took a snap shot with phone. Sent again. Realize again each one of these back and forth correspondences is a day apart. They decided it was good enough. I put new router on yesterday which is when I got it. Between you and I will not use netgear again. I did purchase the geek squad. Guess I should of use them or just took to back for a different brand. Which depend on this new one I might anyway.

Excellent router with latest features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is for Netgear Nighthawk AC3200 dual band WiFi Gigabit router with MU-MIMO technology (R7000P) First of all, let me say a few words about the setup. Netgear made it extremely easy to setup this router. It comes with everything you need to get started: antennas, power cable, ethernet cable and Netgear Up App that needs to be downloaded on your mobile devise. The Netgear Up App is the easiest way to connect. It walks you thru all steps needed and shows basic info about connected devises and network status. For more advanced setup you can use any browser on any devise, go to www.routerlogin.com page and login using credentials printed on the bottom of the router. I prefer the later since I like to fiddle with my network settings. You can always adjust them later if you need to. This router is equipped with a WPS button that allows to add more devises without typing in passwords. This router is one impressive machine. It is very fast and it has great range. My house is around 2500sqft and by placing it roughly in the middle I get full bars coverage everywhere in the house. Even in the farthest conner upstairs I have plenty of speed. I also tested connection outside my home, in the yard, still have good signal. There is definitely no dead spots thanks to Netgear Beamforming technology. This Nighthawk didn't just meet, it exceeded my expectations. It is definitely not the fastest router on the market today but it has most of the same features that routers that cost twice as much have. So I think that for this price it is an excellent value with plenty of features, speed and range. My favorite feature of this router has to be MU-MIMO technology. This new feature is not always available in more expensive routers which sets this router far ahead of it's competition. MU-MIMO allows multiple users and multiple devises connect to the router at the same time and each one is a priority and maintains full speed and range without sharing bandwidth with others. This router is not just for home use. I think small businesses will benefit greatly from new MU-MIMO technology since it provides same great speed to lots of devises. That is why I highly recommend this router to small business owners and home users alike. I received this router for free thanks to the Netgear First Look Review Program in return for my honest and unbiased review.

Good except it doesn't work with Time Machine
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router because of good reviews and the fact that it supposedly worked with Time Machine for wireless backups of my Mac. After setting it up, I spent several days trying to get Time Machine to work with it. I was unsuccessful and, after much digging around, I found out that it does not, in fact, work with Time Machine. I should have purchased some other brand of router. Don't waste your time or money if you want to use Time Machine with it for wireless backups.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return the first after a few days because it stopped working. This should have been my clue. 2nd one worked well for a few weeks. Very fast and signal carried farther. Now it drops out a few times a day and I have to reconnect to iPad or various phones. Was going to return this one but didn’t realize I only had 15 days. I disconnected it and am using my 8 year old router.

Didn't work for me
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This may be a great router for some users, but it was an awful experience for me. It disconnected / dropped Internet connections multiple times each day. It was almost certainly a problem with the Spectrum modem. It was very easy to set up. Based on my experience, don't choose this router if you have the Spectrum modem.

Died a few days after I installed it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace the older version of this router, so am very familiar with it. Installed it and updated the firmware, got everything re-connected and all was generally good. Then it started to randomly drop clients. Re-started it multiple times, then even did a factory reset and re-installed it. Eventually while re-booting, it would partially re-start, then crash, and try to re-start again. After several wasted hours, I boxed it up and took it back. Re-installed the old router, and all is good again. Very frustrating...
