Not worth it!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this and have only had problems since I hooked it up. I waited to long to hook it up and now I cannot return the item due to best buy's super short return policy timeframe. total waste.

Netgear Nighthawk router
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It only worked for a short amount of time. Due to this, I lost 2 tutoring days because this router would shut off and interrupt the internet and I would lose the Zoom connection with my student.

Short life span.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not functioning 18 months after purchase for $169. Warantee, chat, and phone support availability expired. Great while functioning, but very short life span for the investment for just one person use.

Still trying to get support to help me
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been in contact with support multiple times and after figuring out smart connect and 5ghz does not always work (works, then have to reboot router after a couple days). Junk
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The software in this router is absolute garbage, it cannot even assign local DNS names. If you were to buy this overpriced box, at least upgrade the firmwae to OpenWRT.

Long range, no buffering
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying that Netgear has made the initial setup of this router super easy with the Netgear Up app. Launch the app and it will walk you through connecting to the default wireless network from the convenience of your phone. Then jump into the Netgear Genie app to do a little more in-depth setup to your liking. Note: the new Genie user interface is much cleaner and easier to use - kudos Netgear. The range of this router is impressive. It has a strong signal that makes it to the back corner of the property, even while passing through another outside structure. I can't tell you exactly how Beamforming+ and MU-MIMO works, but I haven't had any signal or buffering issues on any of the 20 or so devices when all connected at the same time. It has a lot of the features that other higher end routers have like parental control features (block sites, block services, scheduling, access control), USB storage/printing/vault (computer backup solution), OpenVPN, VLANs, and also includes support for open source firmware like DD-WRT. I'm glad Netgear is now including the ability to use the same wireless network name (SSID) on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks (Smart Connect setting in Advanced Wireless Setup). The only minor feature drawback is you have to install the Netgear Genie app to setup Parental Control, which uses OpenDNS. However, once I installed the app on a Windows 10 computer, I was able to setup filtering in just a few minutes. The power button on the back is a also a nice touch. Overall, I would say the features you get for the price are right on and this R7000P is worth a look if you are in the market for a full-featured router. I received this product for free from the Netgear First Look Review Program for my honest opinion.

Buggiest router I've ever owned, steer clear.

Easy Setup from Former Linksys user
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to be a pretty big Linksys Router user, Til my last one decided to be constantly dropping my signal in m y small Apt. Had the geek squad two year protection warranty for it and decided to bring it back in to get something different. Was looking at the comparable options and what Netgear had to offer. I decided to go with this Netgear router seeing as Cisco bought out Linksys and has been using pretty cheap parts for their routers. My deciding factor to get a netgear router was the fact that my Linksys constantly dropped my Wi-Fi signal in my small apartment while I would try to watch Netflix or video on my Xbox one. Having some technical knowledge, I hooked up the router and used the preset name and password to login. I then changed the router name and the password from the mobile app on my iPhone to my old username and password of the old router. All my devices instantly hooked back up to the new router under the old settings that I gave to the new router and i was set to go. I would recommend this to anyone with a fast internet connection on fiber optic line with multiple devices and if you use 4K streaming as well.

Stopped working after 2 months
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router started rebooting itself and dropping connection after 2 months of use. I spent the extra money thinking there wouldn’t be issues, do not buy from Netgear.

Terrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having had a previous NightHawk R7000, which I liked, I had high hopes, especially buying the upgraded R7000 2300. Coverage was worse than my old one. I switched to Google Mesh, which so far, I love.
