Two R7000P failed within 24 hours from power-on
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having been a prior user of a Netgear R7000 with approximately two years of use, this unit started to fail and I was having to perform factory resets and reload of cfg files 1-2 times per week to recover functionality. I decided it was time to go with a R7000P, but within 24 hrs the first R7000P unit failed with its wireless signal strength failing, going from an RSSI of 350 to 15-20. I exchanged this unit for another R7000P and this unit failed with a boot loop issue on the latest available firmware in 6 hours. FActory reset failed to recover from the boot loop issue.I returned the second unit to the storeand decided it was time to go with another brand. I chose an ASUS unit that has worked our very well and has a very nice interface. Within 7-8 minutes this ASUS unit was fully configured and functional from out of the box to 32 supported devices on both wired, wireless 2.4 and 5 Ghz devices. The ASUS RSSI signal strength is higher then what I was seeing from both of the R7000P, therefore giving us a greater wireless working area.

On the fence about this router

That didn't guarantee they would fix it. I decided to buy a new router and bought another Netgear. Lately, when two people get online, the connection drops. I don't know if it is the router's fault. I had bought this same router for my daughter and she is happy with it.
