I purchased this Netgear Tri-band Wifi 6 router to pair with my Galaxy Note (latest) and computers with built in Wifi 6 cards. The setup and pairing were easy to do using the Netgear phone App. Prior to this upgrade I was using Orbi (not the Wifi 6) and was getting about 300 Mbps download speed. With the upgrade to Wifi 6 on the phone I am getting approximately 700 Mpbs download speed. I have Comcast 1000 Mbps download package. The Tri-band router supports the 160 MHz channel of Wifi 6. I do not believe the new Orbi Wifi 6 supports this channel.

Random dropped connections. Unable to connect

I’ve had very random dropped connections on Ethernet and wireless mode while gaming. I’m not sure what the issue was. I was experiencing drops no matter what I tried latest firmware, hardwire, wireless. I also had issues connecting to this router with older model laptops my tenants use. Not convenient to have these issues WFH. The set up was easy and I do like the simplicity of the nighthawk app. If I wasn’t experiencing these issues, I most likely would have kept this beast. For this price point, it shouldn’t have to be this hard to get all devices up and running.

Have had sketchy WiFi in our house for a couple years. Updated the modem but still our router wasn’t getting the signal to the whole house. Our sons gaming room is in the far corner of the basement so all internet equipment is in that room so we can hardwire his setup. With this router, whole house WiFi is no problem! We stream everything we watch and now we have smooth steady streaming on multiple devices at the same time with little to no buffering ever. Beat decision to buck up and get this guy!

I bought this on a price match and saved a hundred dollars. A little pricey but I have found that with wi-fi buying cheap means you will be going back to upgrade especially if you have a large number of devices connected to your system. On average we have no fewer than 25 devices connected all the time. We have a larger home and no dead spots. Provider is Comcast Business running at 75 down & 15 up with no buffering or lag time. Using the app setup is easy and I have had no issues with connections or speed.

I need fixed IP addresses for a lot of my devices. I entered the MAC addresses several times but the router would still assign random IP addresses…frustrating. I got around the problem by telling the devices what IP address to use and restricted the router’s range to be sure there was no overlap. It was strange that some devices like printers would always get the IP I wanted them to have but all of the cameras had to be manually set to the IP I wanted. It’s Now working great. I also like the new Netgear Armor. I never realized jackets were so interested in my home cameras! Armor detects and block them! It’s $40/year after the 30 day free trial. Seems worth it.

It was easy to set up but something was very different compare to the other router we had before. This router makes it a lot faster to load stuff up for like my homework or a website I need to get to and it's very quick with all of our devices we have around the house makes it easier and what to put at a lower speed internet to a higher speed internet. I would recommended this item if you have a lot of devices in your house.

On the router is blazing fast offers a crazy amount of features that your standard Internet provider router does an offer and it’s a lot compared to what you get from for your money. And it pays for a self. It offers additional security features and you can remotely access other devices and stuff to help out your parents or kids.

My Internet provider tried to convince me that their router is Reliable and Ken provide the performance I was looking for. The problem with my Internet provider is their customer service and lack of information on what they know about their routers. This Netgear product has superseded my expectations and has not failed and has been flawless to set up and Supply Connection for all my devices. If you can afford it this is definitely a reliable and what your needs are looking for and more!

    Smart Sense is Awesome

First, the overall connectivity of the router is great no matter where you are at home. Smart sense allows you to have one wifi name and allow the router to put you in one of three channels it broadcasts. Connecting to your hard drives works but I cannot open up pictures or movies to view the contents. Sometimes I experienced huge drops in speed if attempting to extend wifi, even while connected through ethernet (on Apple Airport Extreme). Overall great router though!

i just changed to Spectrum 200MB plan and finally my Netgear R7000 kind of gave up. Been having lags, total stops, and yesterday every 30 minutes or so, internet freezes for about 3~5 minutes. Specially when the whole family uses internet. (netflix, video stream, YouTube....) currently, i have 25 things attached to it and works perfectly fine. Any where inside of my 2000 square foot home, i'm getting full 200~230MB down speed without any lags. Other than $$$, very happy.

This is nice router that covers my entire home(1700 Sq. Ft.) with a good wi-fi signal. I no longer have to use wi-fi extenders throughout my home. Set up through the Netgear app was easy. Just make sure to follow the instructions properly and be close to your router when you are setting it up. I have a heavy internet user so I needed a router that could handle multiple devices at once with very little lag. Very pricey but it does what I brought it for.

This thing has genuinely changed our life, we had an older router provided by our ISP that kept dropping signal for devices right next to it. We got this thing hooked up, no more dropping, and a super expanded range. On top of that, I can actually manage all the network settings I need, no more locking settings away and making me call customer service. Phenomenal product!

I was excited to get a higher grade Wireless router when we decided to purchase a new one to support my wife and I both working from home and my daughter going to virtual classes. At first the device performance was awesome with my cm1200 and Link Aggregated giving me 400+ speeds from my ISP. The speed between my PS4 Pro was hitting between 150-170 over wireless. Things were great until we started to notice lag and intermeditan DNS issues. I tested my speeds again and they were back down to 20 mbps .. I tested reboot the router and speeds returned, only to go back down within hours of the reboot. Because of this I reached out to support, and entered what some may call support purgatory. Being in service I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but after being on hold for 20+ minutes my engineer connected with me. We started going over the issue which they immediately blamed the ISP for. Maybe charter was throttling the connection or maybe not. But when we finally started to look at the device the call was ended by their tech. I called back and after being on hold again I was connected to whom it sounded like I was originally disconnected from but she acted like she had no idea who I was or the case I had opened after she asked for my name again I stated it was Jacob she then all of a sudden remembered and told me I had a specialized setup and needed to transfer to pro support. I was then on hold again and answered by whom it sounded like the same person again then told me my unit was faulty and I need to exchange it with Best Buy.. So support today gets my rating as well as the issues with keeping my bandwidth. Other cons include a poor app experience. We tried to use some form of a parental control on our daughters device but the features were certainly lacking. I would not recommend Netgear strictly for the support experience.

Fairly easy to set up and so far is stable. Signal strength is not as strong as I anticipated. However this does seem like a good router and with the AX capability my network is future proof.
