This router is killer fast can download a 2 hour movie in like 10 seconds. Buy buy buy! The only thing I’ll mention is that it’s so powerful I swear to God you can feel the radio waves. Think what it might be like inside a microwave oven when it’s on.

Very expensive router. Very high feature set. I do not regret upgrading to this router. My smart home experience has improved significantly with this router. Wi-Fi speeds Hoover aroun 500-600mbps, I receive a full gig over LAN. Make sure to read the instructions if you plan to use Mult-Gig internet. It isn’t super intuitive, the correct setting must be selected in the router settings, which changes the internet port on the router.

This is one of the best router to my possession to date. I love this product. If your internet modem doesn’t have support that level of speed it’s of no use to you.

It is a bit pricey, but it is incredibly fast and easy to set up. I especially like the extra ethernet ports at the back.

2.4 GHZ band is a Joke!

I was really excited about this purchase and I had also purchase the TPlink equivalent with all of the antennas and after doing a few speed test on the two I noticed a ever so slight increase in speeds with the Netgear AX200 so I returned the other brand and went on my merry way. I work from home and due to COVID19 my wife also shares my home office so i thought this would help prevent and challenges with our gigabit service. After a few days my wife kept complaining about losing her connections or really slow speeds which I blamed on user error. Boy was I mistaken, I moved my location with in 7 feet of the router for about a week and multiple times a day the 2.4 band would either slow down or completely disappear. Now the 5g band works as advertised however many of my older devices, camera's, light bulbs and such don't take advantage of those bands so this experience was a total waste. I research the problem online and have seen multiple complaints and it appears that this falls on deaf ears with Netgear. I will be substituting to either another TpLink product or the Asus equivalent once they are available. This bad boy goes back to the store!!

    A downgrade

I bought this to replace a TP-Link OnHub router because my internet connection kept dropping. I opted for a top of the line Wi-Fi 6 router to future proof my purchase—I don't upgrade routers very often. This router has slightly better range than the TP-Link, which is why I gave it two stars instead of one. In all other regards, this router is a downgrade. Data transfer speeds are significantly slower than the TP-Link, as measured with multiple products on five different devices. Even a centimeter away, with no obstructions, it's slower than the TP-Link through a wall on the far side of another room. Setup was a hassle. I had to install a proprietary app on my phone, and it still wasn't a smooth process. I followed the directions to the letter because I wanted it to go right, which was a mistake. There were little niggling issues—the directions didn't explicitly state that I needed to plug in the power cable at a certain point, so I didn't. And I stood there staring at the thing, waiting for it to connect to the modem, for an embarrassingly long period of time. It seemed too good to be true, and it was. I plugged it in and completed the setup routine. It failed multiple times until, for reasons unknown, it suddenly worked. Before I even got started checking internet speeds, the app started pinging me to do a firmware update—which failed over and over and over again. I never got confirmation that the update was successful, but the notification finally went away, so that's a plus

Space Age Looking Solution for Speed and Distance

Once we upgraded our home internet to 300Mb/sec, we needed to improve the speed of the wi-fi as well as add more reliability to the distance we were covering. This was a perfect solution. I've done one of these for my brother as well and solved similar issues for him, just like we did for our home install.

Absolutely simple to install, incredible fast delivery for your bandwidth transfer needs, handles a whole smart home easily, the app is amazingly easy to use and very advanced to control and monitor your home even while you are out of the home. It is simply the best smart router I have ever purchased, and I like buying the best electronics. You get what you pay for!!

This is the second Netgear Nighthawk that we had to get. First one Geek Squad said it was bad because of the IP would not release or clear the 45.X.X.X out of its system. Come to find out that IP address is actually Spectrum's IP address from their modem. Would have figured Geek Squad knowing this. Well the reason it started was the Lenovo computer with Windows 10 OS kept getting "Ethernet doesn't have valid IP Configuration" Nothing online would fix this, so we used are Tech protection or whatever its called to have them come out. The unit has its on Geek Squad protection also. They told us that it was bad and to replace it... We did that, they sent an EX8000 extender instead of the RAX200 router, once that once changed we still got the same issues with a new Lenovo running Windows 10 OS. Called Netgear, first you have to register product, they remoted in and said nothing was wrong with the netgear router, everything else could get online but not the wired in computer. What I found is that to disconnect the CAT6 cable going from the modem to the router and connect the modem direct into the computer. about 10 seconds later the LAN works on the computer. Then you have to power down the router and modem, re-connect the CAT6 to the router and power modem up first, then router and everything will work for a few weeks until Windows 10 OS decides it doesn't want to play with others anymore.

Easy install, Performing better than my obsolete Nighthawk 2400. I was hoping for an improvement in wifi range, but really the same signal strength throughout the house. It is performing better than before at night when all 3 college kids are streaming, xbox etc. The app is good too, I can remotely dump a connection to get kids attention, nice feature.

Let’s see at first everything ran fast. But for a gaming power house it is not. Constantly getting lagged out of games or kicked of network. Not sure why since all gaming packets should be first. Can’t adjust priority in the qos. Every time I do and hit apply nothing changes. And then once a week have to reset the router. It’s a shame because my r8500 was way better for not dropping just didn’t have the range this one does. It sucks Netgear can’t seem to get it right.
