    The anticipated improvement in network speeds was not materialized. Had an older netgear router and was very disappointed in this newer model. Had issues with accompanying software and netgear's support personnel were terrible.

    Middle range performance on a high end router

    Bought to replace a linksys AC2100, sad to say the linksys gave faster wifi speeds both upload and downloads. I bought for the Wifi 6, but see no additional speed on my Samsung S20 5g plus Will be returning and trying the Asus AC3100

    After installing this router to my fios connection i achieved speeds up to 875mbps .. while that was great and all... the service kept dropping. After troubleshooting my cable run and determined that was not the issue i discovered that the WAN port was faulty and only linked when it felt like it. returned it and got Linksys AX 6000 mesh and its great

    I am not overly impressed. Coverage and signal strength not all that great. Started have stability issues after about a year. Not the experience I have had with Netgear devices in the past.

    Constantly losing connection to ISP. Modem is preforming with little to no lag when ISP dips. Router loses connection and takes 5-10 minutes to boot back up. Has to be reset EVERYDAY. Return time was already up when we were able to source the problems. Have not contacted manufacturer to see if a return can be done through them for faulty merchandise.

    Great router when i first bought it. But started randomly losing wifi signal. Replaced with new router and didn't have that problem anymore

    Okay for an Apartment but nothing more

    Purchased this expecting it to cover a 2,700 SF house. This gets about 70% of the house. My problem with this is that the connection is not always as strong as advertised. I do have a direct fiber line so it should be running to it's peak potential. The main issue is that at lease 2 times per week the router drops which disconnects cameras and other devices requiring me to manually connect them again each time. Calling Netgear gets you nowhere other than telling you to take it back to bestbuy. Hoping bestbuy will honor the return so it can be exchanged for a working router. I would suggest avoiding this router unless you have a 1,000 SF apartment.

    Weak coverage

    I'm not impressed with this router, my netgear 3200 performed better for few years, i have a two story home with 18 devices connected to the router. Download speeds are much lower than the 3200, ring cameras transmission are lagging on 5g channels. I'm returning the device back to exchange with the same router I had.

    I don't notice a difference from our old Nighthawk router. Our wifi is still nowhere near the 1g that we pay for and goes out intermittently.

    Quick and easy set up using the app. I would not recommend because the signal is poor at the edges of the house and does not carry very far. Does not do well connecting multiple devices. I upgraded only because I cut the cord and went to streaming My old router went several hundred yards even outside. . The Best Buy employee said this is the best option for my house. I paid way to much thinking you get what you pay for, but not in this case!!! I would return it but it is such a hassle after getting it connected and working. Not worth the $200 +

    First Netgear Nighthawk that has been disappointin

    I have set up 4 Netgear Nighthawk modem/routers in the last 5 years and all were very easy to set up and work very well. This one was very difficult to set up (took several hours to get it completed) and is only mediocre in performance. I replaced a 12 year old router and got no better performance.

    good for wired, terrible for wireless.

    this is fine for wired connections but when I try to set up wireless devices it fails all over the place. randomly dropping connections to my speakers, limiting the connections on phones, with the phones getting "limited connection" errors, and outright blocking my Nest E Thermostat from being on wifi.

    Horrible!!!! We bought this due to the fact that our 1st Netgear which we purchased in 2016 was wonderful and never a moments trouble. We out grew that router and wanted to upgrade it and I thought this would be great after reading wonderful review...Boy am I glad I bought an extended warranty because this is a piece of crap machine put out by Netgear when I have to reset it 2 times in 5 days and then the CS of Netgear says "sorry over the 3 free replacement" when I have 2 different numbers and one was clearly in the 30 day time. IT WILL NOT STAY CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET FOR NOTHING!

    Not a good fit with Sonic Gigabit internet

    Just moved and upgraded to gigabit, fiber internet and decided to upgrade from the AC2300 to this... and the AC2300 has been the better router so far via wifi. Really surprising... maybe I did something with the setup, but all I did was follow the setup from the Nighthawk app and let the rest handle itself, turning on the QoS and checking on or off the features after. Surprised also because this is supposed to be one of the top routers of the year, especially heading into WiFi 6.
