What an improvement over my old router! With the higher bandwidth I get a lot better coverage within my home and the speed is a HUGE improvement. I should have upgraded long ago. It just keeps getting better.

A fantastic router! I get 0 loss of signal in my house, the wifi 6 is insanely fast, and it looks cool, too. All for an affordable price. Would definitely recommend!

Was ok in the beginning but now it's kinda bad

I had this router for about a year and in the beginning it was awesome! Speed and range were amazing, but as firmware updates came out and were applied I have sadly found that reliability and range have greatly decreased and I find myself having to reboot my router once a week. Might be my last Netgear router and try an ASUS one next since I have heard they are a little more stable and reliable.

Not worth money unless wired or in same room.

Really disappointed in range and app. I use this in a one bedroom apartment and going through one wall I can not use the xbox remote play game feature reliably. My old $40 router gave better range. Trying to use the app is terrible. It doesn't have any of the features that are actually useful. Then trying to adjust things through the web interface on a mobile device is clunky, slow, and almost impossible to read since it doesn't format all the windows very well.

Overpriced. Entry mixed with high end

The 5G radio performs okay as it should because it uses a higher end AX radio, but the 2.4G radio and CPU SoC are very entry. This is what you find in much cheaper products ranging anywhere from $69-180 bucks currently, not $300. You can find products like the ASUS AX88U and NETGEARS own RAX80 at this price (on sale) and they use much better hardware for the CPU and 2.4G radio. $299 is highway robbery. please reconsider and buy an older R7800 if you wanna stick to netgear. Much better router and price ($169) granted the hardware is 5 years older.

    Can’t update firmware!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Netgear is a disaster They force you into the Nighthawk app which is exceptionally buggy it will not update the firmware through the app Then when I try to access admin through a PC it continuously caches to the net gear website they say to Delete browsing history but it will not work I tried on multiple devices multiple browsers with no luck So then I’m relegated to using the admin feature on an iPhone and router login.net is horrendous on the iPhone I still can’t update the firmware or update my password Netgear will not help you after 90 days. You can only go to the community and all the fixes do not work How is updating a password in firmware this difficult! No wonder hackers go after Netgear products I’m smashing the $300 night hawk and now having to get a new router after only four months

    Piece of Crap

I got this router in December and have problems with it from the start with it freezing and dropping all the connections. I opened a support call with netgear and they have swapped out the router for another of the same model twice (at $16.90 per for shipping) and it still happens. I have spent about 6 hours total on the phone with them upgrading firmware and changing settings and it had to be power cycled 8 times yesterday morning. I will never buy another netgear product again. BTW I work as a system admin.

Only giving it a one star because of Parental Controls being an EXTRA subscription charge while its all bundled and included with other Routers. Thumbs down!
