I bought this today at Best Buy and set it up right when I returned home. This replaced the R7000 I've convinced myself needed upgrading since I was overloading the 5ghz band that sat at 1300mbps with voip calls and video meeting, 4khdr videos and YouTube streams along with another TV streaming Philo. the r7000 is a really, really good router 7 years later and technically I did not have to upgrade but for some reason I thought it okay to drop $323 on a frikin' router. Anyways it solves the issue of multiple streams at 1080 or higher. I stressed tested this with 2 TV's, 1 streaming Philo, the other streaming 4k Youtube, 2 cell phones streaming 1080p youtube and 2 laptops streaming...1 4k and the other 1080p. My r7000 could not handle 2 streams and guys this is all on the 5hz band. Pretty impressive then to run a speed test to pull 250mbps with all that going on off a separate device. I then have a work laptop wired to a work router wired to a extender (I KNOW...Do NOT ask why) and that device trio is working well too off a docking station. The interface looks very similar to the old r7000 interface with a few new toolsets for you but this took...10 minutes to set up using the qr code then tweaking the rest at the web interface. No problems yet...pulling 1.2+gbps wireless. Before you get excited that is the wireless connection not the internet speed while connected wirelessly. One small issue that I didn't consider is that oh so cool WPA3 Personal encryption. Like a dolt I enabled it then nothing could connect to it because nothing prior to right now support it. So isWPA3 cool? You betcha. Is it logical right now? Well for phones like the Note 10+ onward, sure but that printer and those other 19 5ghf devices you use from 2 years backwards...no sorry you'll be using the 2 standard. What printer utilized the WPA3 standard right now anyways. Oh well. So should you get this. It depends. Haha good luck! It worked for me. $323? Come on!

This is our 5th nighthawk router we have installed. We use these in our short term vacation rentals to convert the homes into smart homes. We upgrade all homes with TVs in every room and use streaming services only for our guest. We also upgrade to smart HVAC thermostats for every level of the homes and smart door locks. These routers have been instrumental and FLAWLESS in our guest experiences.

Good speed but have to reboot every once in a while because different devices seem to lose Wi-Fi signal. Reboot does the trick but annoying. There’s a feature called smart-connect where the devices automatically connect to the best signal, 2.4g or 5g so that may be why devices lose signal but not positive about that yet.

Works great...finally. This router was a major pita to get set up and configured, primarily due to the requirement to use the app which is absolutely garbage. I have had previous NetGear products and NEVER had any issues with setup, but thus one was horrible due to the app not working as intended. Anyone considering purchasing this model needs to ignore the app use and hardwire it to your computer and set it up the traditional way. Once I did this setup went very quickly. The other issue is the signal on the unit is not very strong, you would think that such a new unit it would produce a better, stronger signal. My old units 5G signal covered my whole house (3 story with full basement) while this one I had to purchase separate extenders to ensure whole house coverage. The 2G works well but it also does not have the same coverage. Previously the 2g would reach the detached garage, work shop and guest house and now it covers about 20 feet outside my home. Terrible range for a new product. And if I had to rate their customer service....they would receive negative stars. Don't plan on getting any help from them. So, why 3 stars, one word...wifi6. This is the primary reason I upgraded and in this I have not been disappointed. Faster connections, better security, everything wifi6 promised.

This router has been working well for us so far. In my experience these things can work great for a while and then start causing issues later on. After having this for about 5 months we haven’t had any issues. I initially purchased the device to replace an Orbi system and for the size of our apartment the range is perfect! Overall I would recommend this router for anyone looking to upgrade to WiFi 6 and prepare for the future.

Wow. This router completely transformed my home's WiFI power and coverage in just a few minutes after setup. I was looking to boost my existing network to my home office, which is in a section of our garage area, about 2,000 sq feet away from the main Xfinity Comcast router. I went from 3-bars and dropping to 5 and fast, solid!!!
