I recently upgraded from a Linksys AC1900 and the connection stability is far much better. My room is relatively far and has many walls in the path of my router and my connection does not fail. With my AC1900, I would lag or even completely lose connection at times, but after upgrading, I have not experienced those issues. It was definitely a router that was very easy to setup and even lets me configure the router settings through the NETGEAR Nighthawk app. I can manage the network names, passwords, configure the security, do port forwarding, and more. If you’re a gamer looking for the best gear, I definitely recommend the XR1000 as a useful purchase.

Purchased this Nighthawk WiFi 6 router to replace the Google mesh system that was crashing on a consistent basis after 4 years. Easy to setup and has been bullet proof even with a host of devices connected and also working from home.

I bought this model two years ago and it failed me unexpectedly, which was really surprising but sometimes it do be that way. I have a lot of users in my home and needed something that could handle the strain of gamers, working from homes, streaming etc.,. When they’re running they are good little workers. I got another one because it was on sale and I like nighthawk, but purchased the warranty just in case. Had I not been cheap last time, replacement would have been no problem at no expense through Best Buy. Won’t make that mistake again.

I am absolutely amazed by the performance of this router. I under estimated this router based on the hardware specs, but after setting it up and using it for games, video streaming, conferences and more games all at the same time without any problems, I am absolutely pleased with the results. Note: the routers dashboard is a bit slow, but the trade off is excellent performance for everything else.

We needed a new router ASAP and this was the next upgrade available to the one we currently owned that was over 5 years old. Decided to go with the same maker since we were happy with them previously.

I bought this to replace my six-year-old Netgear Nighthawk R7000 because my wife's work laptop began having connection issues with the 2.4 GHz network. Her laptop's NIC doesn't support 5.0. Other than that, the unit has been bulletproof. Maybe a monthly restart of my network stack to keep the cable router as well as the Nighthawk "fresh." So I figured I'd get this because of the WiFi 6 support, and it was on sale! The initial setup was painless, with a little getting used to the DUMAOS 3 interface. I chose to configure via Web Browser rather than the Nighthawk App on my phone. One of the first steps in setup is to update the firmware, so you really cannot be stuck with an old OOTB firmware. I named passworded my 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz networks and guest networks the same as on my R7000 and almost all of my 52 devices picked up a new IP address and just worked. Including all of my Alexa Echo's and Dot's. But that's where the problems started. Streaming music, either Amazon or Pandora through any of my stream boxes would randomly stop, terminate the song early, or simply stop playing. I restarted the network stack and it did the same thing. As a test, I took out the new XR1000 and put back the R7000, and now music streams uninterrupted, the way it should. I don't want to spend hours troubleshooting this device. I want a router to just work, and for over $300, this should just work. Best Buy, I'll see you soon

Great product. I waited a couple months to review this product to make sure it stayed consistent. I live in a brick house that is 1700 square feet with multiple walls that the signal had to travel through and this router gets the wireless signal through to stream on the television without any problems. I also have my gaming system hooked up wirelessly and there is no issues. This was also easy to set up and get running and the app for this product is easy to use.

SO STILL BEST GAMING WIFI EVER, BUT DOES NOT SUPPORT DUAL WAN AGG(PORT BONDING) BUT DOES OFFER DUAL LAN AGG, STILL HAS GEO LOCATION, AND PING MAP FOR MORE CONSISTENT SERVER SELCTION, WIFI ODFM CAPLE, DOES HAVE WIFI5 WHEN U ENABLE GUEST WIFI SO RING, AND WIRELESS PRINTER WILL WORK. THE ONE THING THAT UPSETS ME IS THAT THEY TOOK THE VPN CLIENT OFF OF THIS MODEL, UNLIKE THE WIFI5 (XR5000) OF THIS VERSION THAT HAD THE VPN CLIENT. I LIKE THIS FETURE BECAUSE IT ALLOWED ANY VPN SETUP.

Very sad. I've been using Netgear products since the 90's when I got my first Cable Internet connection. They have always had the best range of wireless connection and great performance. I bought this to upgrade my R7000 due to my family's high demand gaming. 1. I was able to easily set up the router with the phone app. Next I wanted to enable Port Forwarding for Call of Duty Cold War. When I tried to log in to the router, it kept telling me I needed a secure connection and would not let me in. I called customer service to help. The rep could not help me log in and turned it over to advance support. I received an email confirming this with a case number. That was on 12-7-20. It is now 12-14-20 and I have had not communication with advanced support. 2. I kept trying to log in to the router and eventually got in via the DumaOS app. I set the Port Forwarding for the games I wanted and thought we were G2G. Once we started playing we found that this router continually and briefly drops your connection (possibly to refresh to a better internet path). I would call customer service to help correct this, but since I have not receive a call back for the first case number, why open a second? I will be returning this item for a refund. I understand that COVID has limited businesses all over the country, but support techs can work from home and I don't feel like Netgear has put enough effort into their customer service!

This is my second nighthawk first i had the rax48 and now this one they both have similar issues it would just randomly drop and i cant get over 100mbps unless im on 5ghz. I also have trouble connecting have to do a full restart every other day dissapointing for the price. And also netgear sucks they’ve billed me twice these past 2 years 69.99 without knowing I just happen to catch it on my statement, for armor protection on the old device that i had canceled almost 2 years ago and no refund.
