Q: Do i need a seperate modem or does it have one built into the router?
A: You will need a separate modem Rule #1 on Home networks - always use the cable modem & separate router set-ups - stay away from combo units Modem-Routers all-in-one
Q: What is the estimated square footage this router will support?
A: depends on wifi 6 or 5 and construction. We get good coverage throughout our 3700 sq ft (built in 2007) 2 story. Router is upstairs and is able to supply first floor full coverage without issue on the wifi5 2.4ghz & 5ghz bands. Wifi6 seems to go a bit further even outside pretty easily
A: Possibly. Depending on the closeness of the adjacent house, the composition of exterior walls or other obstructions in between, and the height/elevation of the Blackhawk router installation.
Q: Is this strong? I am looking for distance for wifi cameras.
A: Some of my cameras are about 60ft from the modem and i get a moderate power signal to them they work fine. I am also going thru 3 walls
A: In wifi settings turn off smart connect
Q: WILL A AX5400 NIGHTHAWK ROUTER BE FASTER THAN A R7000NIGHTHAWK ROUTER
A: Yes. WiFi 6 provides up to 40% faster speeds when using a WiFi 6 enabled device. On legacy WiFi 5 devices you should see a 10 to 20% increase in speed. Plus WiFi 6 provides up to 4x increased capacity for connected smart home devices, reduced interference, and better range.
