Easy install - strong signal

Very strong signal - covers 3700 sq ft home with no problem. 2.4 signal usable outdoors on good portion of a 1 acre lot - even through the brick walls of my home. Excellent product - a little on the expensive side.

Most of my devices use 5 so it only affects things light wifi lightbulbs mostly.

XR1000 GOES FAR!

In the very back corner of my backyard, I have 3/3 bars and get 250 out of 500 mbps. Looks great too! Alien UFO ship design lol. I just really hope you never have to call Netgear support because I have heard horror stories and even bribes for basic tech support. I literally bought Best Buy warranty because of it.

Defective product

I generally have good luck with technology, so I thought it would not happen to me. Unfortunately that is exactly what happened to me - 3 months and 1 week. Started dropping connections then suddenly dead. Confirmed with tech on other end of internet connection at Spectrum. Dug out my old R7000 which is now working fine.

Great For Dedicated Gamers But Not To Average User

Great for gamers or anyone looking for stable high speeds in a small to mid-sized house or apartment. Settings options... you can change just about anything to your preference. The Bad: It's big and takes up a lot of space. It also doesn't look very good. Reboots and setting changes take way too long especially compared to other brands of routers I've used like AmpliFi HD. Also, the app sucks... it's slow and buggy and any changes take MINUTES to take effect even simple changes.
