I bought this to replace my old Linksys router. I got a good price on this one so the cost wasn't that bad. I thought I might as well upgrade to Wi-Fi 6 and I am not at all disappointed. It is a great router.

This is really a 4.5 stars. Blazing wifi but I don’t see much benefit from much of the wifi 6 capabilities yet. ODFMA settings actually slow my speed. Nonetheless, you will be pressed to find a faster or safer router than the RAX80

After our Spectrum router kept dropping out at least 3 times a day, a friend told us we should buy this to replace it. Easy to set up, haven’t had a problem with the internet dropping since.

I was worried that the price would not justify the use. I do not regret the purchase and happy with it. I can get a clear signal in the house and outside at the far edge of the property.

As soon as I finished setting up the new router, I could instantly see the improvement. I went from a Netgear AC1900 router to the Nighthawk AX8 and it was clearly evident that this is a much better router.

Worth every penny. I have AT&T Fiber 1000 and I consistently get 900mbps up and down throughout my house. Highly recommend, especially for people with a lot of smart home devices.

Right after 3 months of use I noticed that the speed is kind low and did speed check from neet gear app , and shows 300 mbps but when i am doing a speed test from okoola speed test is like 60 to 100 and switch to 5ghz is a little better But the most inconvenient think is that on 2.4 ghz some it drops the signal and i have to switch to my att router or to 5ghz so I don’t know what to do is still deciding what other one to buy

Great router. Doesn't play well being attached to my mesh without a few adjustments, but my speeds in the main house area are constant and strong. Their app is actually solid though for remotely controlling and tracking your network.

I am not normally a negative reviewer BUT....I purchased this as well as their top end Nighthawk EAX80 extender to go with it. At best you may get weeks to months of good use, but then it will stop working. You need to constantly restart or completely reset it. This typically happens after new firmware updates, but sometimes seems unrelated. This week was the final straw after almost a year and a half...they issued a firmware update and overnight it changed my SSID to a simple “Netgear” name and removed the security/password, opening my network up publicly. Unacceptable. Also, the app is very slow and unreliable. It is best to configure via the web interface. For the price, Netgear should offer technical support for at least a full year, not 90 days (typically at the point you run into your first firmware caused issue and need it). Will soon be replacing. Wish I could have returned it had the issues started earlier.

This unit was a replacement. The old unit required multiple range extenders due to limitation. This has fantastic range that can accommodate all of my devices.

I bought the Netgear Nighthawk WiFi 6 router and two Netgear EAX80 extenders and I wish I could return it all. The router seems to be fine; can'tbe sure, but the extenders show up in the Network Map section of the Nighthawk app, but is not connected to the internet. I called Netgear support on three consecutive days and their support is totally useless. They don't seem to understand the questions and their skills are non-existent. Each time I called, they wanted me to reset and reconnect the extenders to the router and uninstall/reinstall the Nighthawk app. Fortunately, I still have time to return one extender. I don't know if their mesh systems work better, but based on the lack of support I got with my Nighthawk, I wouldn't buy a newspaper from these nincompoops. DO NOT BUY THE PRODUCTS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THEIR SUPPORT IS TOTALLY USELESS. THEY KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I SUGGEST YOU LOOK AT OTHER BRANDS.

This router is just expensive, considering you can get the Asus RT-AX88U for around $50 less and, in my opinion, it beats this one but that could change given your living space setup. There's nothing wrong with this other than the cost.

This router was purchased for work. We needed a router that could handle 2 USB 3.0 drives at the same time for our in house cloud system. That being said the range on the router is not the best, and we are finding that computers that are not hard lined don't always have access to the internet. Luckily most of our computers have a hard line so it isn't always an issue. Could be better if it had the ability in the system to schedule automatic resets on the device as to ensure a fast connection to the drives.

In my household we have 50+ wireless devices between iphones, watches, iPads, computers, TVs, Apple TV’s and so on. When I started adding devices it was fast. Supper fast. As I started added more devices the router would crash. It’s not like we were using all the devices at ones to stress test it and I separated the different devices on the different networks. It would just crash. I would have to reset the unit or unplug it. It just couldn’t keep up so I returned it.
