Outstanding Performance!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast, reliable, and steady! Can't wait for AX clients. This router is very powerful and the coverage is far and wide. The 64 bit, 1.8Ghz Quad core processor does not break a sweat while streaming and having 12 other devices relying on it for signal. I have owned this router for 2 months now, with no hiccups, runs, drips or errors! I highly recommend this product and Best Buy!

Fast wi-fi with increased range!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was upgrading to a Gigabit internet service and I wanted a high performance router that would help get the full benefit from the faster internet. That is why I went with this router. So far it definitely has increased the speed and range of our internet versus my 3 to 4 year last generation Nighthawk 3200. These are supposed to be future proof for years as well with the Wifi 6 and AX technology. So far I am pretty happy with it if you are wanting the fastest router and willing to pay a little more.

So far great router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set-up was a breeze. My initial concerns were staying with Netgear because of security patch delays with previous router (model R7000). No issues with connecting smart home products (tv, computers, iPads, cell phones etc). The only issue after two days was no connection to outside garage Ring security lights, however backyard ring light had no issues. To reestablish connection I reset up ring extender and no issues since. A little expensive.

Overall a good router
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant as my max speeds on the last Netgear router was constricted. This one however; performs as advertised. Having 400mbs available this unit allows for consistent speeds of upper 300’s with over 30 devices....4 of which are wired and are high consumers. Setup was easy and the system platform is easy to navigate. The range of the unit is good to great with 2000 square foot house. The only take back is the inability to have a second channel of 5G. All in all a good product. Worth the money.

Perfect multi device WiFi management
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simple to install and use! My WiFi speed and strength have increased significantly!! I am currently running several devices simultaneously on my WiFi signal (3 Apple TV’s; 2 IPhones; smart TV: 2 IPads ; 2 Apple IPods; 2 wireless printers)! No buffering! The Netgear app allows you to monitor and control all in home WiFi connections. In a word, the Netgear AX600 is PERFECT!

Working good so far
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Today (8/23) is the first day using this router. Since I was replacing the old router (also a nighthawk), using the app was a bit difficult. Ended up having to do a factory reset on the router since it wouldn't set up properly (partly due to human error on my part). Once I did the factory reset, the set up went more smoothly. So far it has performed better than the previous router and has a better reach. I will say it was a bit on the expensive side and hope it will be worth it. I will give this a few months before I give my final verdict.

Took awhile to figure out, best router ever owned!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently upgraded my internet to the Cox Gigablast and needed to upgrade my modem and router to handle the new speeds. I ended up going with the Netgear CM1200 for my modem and highly recommend it. In the last week I have tried over 3 different routers, all of them cost more than 250. They are all Netgear routers, XR500, AC4000, and finally the AX8. The XR500 and AC4000 had great wifi speeds but you had to be close to the router, even on 2.4ghz you had to be somewhat close. I have a 1700 sq ft home single story and still had range issues. I have about 6 wireless devices in my house and my Xbox One X is hardwired into the router. For some reason the XR500 and AC4000 couldn't get a strong enough wifi in my masterbedroom for my Amazon 4k fire stick. Once I went out in my backyard or garage the range was weak and my speeds dropped a lot, even on the 2.4ghz. I actually liked the XR500 more than the AC4000 due to the lower ping it gave me for my Xbox One X online. Other than that I needed something that had a lot better range than what I was getting. So I ended up returning the two since they weren't working for what I originally bought them to do. So I did some more research, figured I would try out the New Ax8 that came out a few months ago. Getting everything setup was a bit confusing at first, until I installed the app on my phone. It's actually nice to be able to set the router up using my phone vs a laptop. Right off the bat this router is flying on my speed test and the range was good. However I started to noticed my range was slightly better than the 250 dollar routers, but not by much. I searched around online and found a few people having the same issue as I was. Did some more research on Netgear forums and finally found the solution to my problem. You have to go into the router on a laptop to change the channels. The app has a option "wifi statics" so you can test and see the different devices on your wifi connection. It also shows you the frequency so you can adjust to different channels and it even tells you what channels have the less amount of traffic. I ended up turning the "auto" feature on my 2.4ghz off and picked channel "11" since it seem to empty. I checked the frequency on the app with that channel and sure enough it was great. Ran a speed test while connected to the 2.4ghz and it finally worked!! I am getting great speeds in any room through out my house. So I repeated these steps with my 5ghz and that also improved big time. Anyone having range issues or low speeds needs to use the app on your phone and the wifi statics to figure out your channel issue. Be sure to check out the forums online for Netgear, there is a lot of useful information on there.

Solid router

Great router for future proofing.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is set to run WiFi 6 as the industry begins to role out devices that are WiFi 6 compatible. You won’t be able to fully utilize the most impressive features of WIFI 6 until a higher percentage of your devices are compatible. Even though the WiFi six features are the reason to purchase this device it is still backwards compatible and most all who purchase this router for home or small office use will see a noticeable improvement in speed and coverage area. My older router had more than enough range for our house but I went ahead and purchased the ax8 for my newly installed home theater. We have a single story 3500 square foot house with steal framing and heavy insulation. This router reaches every corner of the house with full speeds and can even be utilized to get WiFi an additional 10 feet outside the house without any WiFi extenders. I have been very satisfied with the ease of setup and performance of this router and feel very comfortable recommending it for any one wanting to upgrade their home or small business WiFi. For a medium or larger business I would recommend the ax12 as an alternative. It will be able to accommodate more devices at a single time.

Better range, big problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup of this router was straight forward and quick, and I do see better range over my previous generation nighthawk. I have one laptop that will not see this router at all however (yes its 802.11ac and worked on my previous router). In addition to the device issue, the router has dropped the wifi connection a couple of times. When this happens, only a reboot of the router will bring the networks back. Hope this gets fixed in a firmware update soon! Until these issues are resolved, I would not recommend this.

Expensive but worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have used comcasts all in one modems for a while now and have been changing out boxes like crazy and none of them work. Only some devices will connect at times while others dont. Restart the modems or replace em all with the same results. After purchasing this and hooking it up all my devices worked immediately and no more internet connection issues. If you have issues with your devices connecting to comcast modem/routers buy this and shut comcasts wifi off!

A wifi-game changer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product has solved many problems for us. First of all our wifi-now extends across almost our entire house with very little degradation in signal even at 5Ghz. With our previous bundled router - only 2.4ghz reached the entire house and even that had bad signal loss at the extremities. Secondly our connection had always been very up and down. I had always attributed this to our ISP but now I think it may have been the sheer stress we were placing on the old router and its inability to keep up with all the devices we had attached. We have smart lighting, Smart TVs, games consoles, tablets, phones, wifi speakers and I have not experienced any slow down or dropped connections since installing the new router, We are really pleased and would highly recommend trying this router if you have wifi issues.

High performance, high price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace my aging Nighthawk x4 2350 which was dropping connections during late night gaming regularly. So far I have definitely seen the speed increase in between my WiFi 6 clients and no drop outs so far. That being said, it is still expensive being a WiFi 6 product, and the UI is a little slow.

Great But Needs Adjustments out of box.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Router! I have gigabit internet which at the cable runs about 980mbs. Then on the 5ghz band I will get about 680mbs which I find pretty reasonable. The 2.4 reaches all around my house and all around my yard I would definitely say more than 2,500 square feet. Only thing is, is Mimo and beamforming is not enabled out of box, as well QOS while in theory is a great technology and is enabled out of box, is not working correctly on this router. It throttles the speed BIG TIME. On the 5 band I was getting about 120mbs which was not good at all, I had better speed on my ISP provided Router. As well the tech support is a joke, they have no idea what they’re talking about, I’m surprised the worker knew what an Ethernet cable was. Overall good router, it was either between this or the Orbi system which is very praised but I was hoping to jump ahead of the curve with the whole WiFi 6 movement.

Outstanding Router!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The AX8 was incredibly easy to set up. It’s performance is outstanding. Unlike my previous router which required a range extender, I now get full house WiFi. The speed is excellent, and I appreciate all the information I can get from the Nighthawk App.

Good router
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have purchased this router multiple times. The last one purchased was dead out of the box but I guess with tech items that happens. Typically we’ve had good results from this router. Range and ease of use even with medium size office of 15-20 can access and work off router without issues

Seems really good?
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm surprised to read the 1 star reviews of people that are having 5ghz drop out and bad wired speeds, etc. I have just started using this router 2 weeks ago and it seems to work very well. No dead zones in 2 story 2,000 sqft house and the wifi 6 speed working on my galaxy s10+ gets 940mbps download. I did have some strange issues connecting google home mini and google chromecasts.. it is similar to what some 1 star reviews said, but after just trying over and over, and hard resetting the google devices, they connected to 5Ghz band.. seems working well, no drop outs on streaming 1080p to my TV. hope things continue to work well and I don't run into those issues reported in the 1 star reviews. Also the app to set it up is really good and easy, you scan a barcode, what are these people talking about saying it is hard and does not work?

Good but not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the AX8 router for a little over a month. The unit appears to have improved our downloads and streaming, as compared to our older Netgear AC 1900 unit. However, at times, the 5G channel becomes unavailable until we reboot the unit.

Big improvement in WiFi signal
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an aging Wi-Fi router. The setup was very easy and the app recommended for installation worked great. The signal is much stronger and the downloads are way faster than before. This is also a great looking device.

Great router, just don’t mesh with the AX80.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great router. Not the easiest thing to use if you are unfamiliar with routers. As a bonus, it has a good look. I have it on my bookshelf, next to my TV with a bunch of StarWars models (One of the neighbors even mistook it for one of the ships). The app is ok, but clunky. It is hard to find what you want in it. It does deliver fast connectivity to my devices. I can connect my devices at have most of them have a 300Mbps download. This was one of the major reasons I purchased this router. The other reason was for the mesh capabilities. However the AX80 is a hot, steaming pile of crap. This makes the mesh networking not the best, but I will not let the AX80’s issue taint the rating on this. Just be warned, it might be worth looking at other mesh products, if that is what you are after.
