Nighthawk AX6000 router is a new KING of routers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very nice router. The best I ever tested. It has a very unique design for antennas. Just like a StarWars spaceship. It is very good looking and very sturdy. Excelent quality materials are Netgear's signature. Setting up this router is very easy in Nighthawk app. It automaticaly updates firmware and guides thru the simple install process. I prefer to use web GUI interface to make sure all the settings are set just as I want them. This router is so much better then my previous multi-router setup. I have succesfully switched all my 20+ connected devises to this new router and I am glad to report that all of them work and have a better signal strength. With my old router I had a few wifi dead spots in my house but AX6000 has all bars wifi coverage everywhere in my house and even around my property. I am completely satisfied with the range coverage of this router. It must be due to WiFI 6 capability. It also has very fast CPU that can handle a lot of devises without any issues. I don't have any AX devises yet but it is a very nice to know that when I get them they will work with this router. Transfer speeds are very impressive. I get no leg at all. I have a NAS connected to one of the gigabit Lan ports and it is running at peak speed and performance. I am able to stream 4k content to 3 TVs simultaniusly. I also run 8 wireless security cameras and this thing of beauty never miss a bit. I also use VPN and this router is very easy to configure VPN settings. Gaming thru a VPN tunnel is the best. I am able to set QoS for gaming and I like how this router handles requests. One of the reasons why I decided to upgrade was constant need to reboot my network. Sometimes a couple of times a day. And after switching to this router and initial reboot after firmware update I don't ever need to reboot it. It just works and works great. I'm planning to buy an AX wireless adapter for my PC as soon as possible to start enjoying the extreme speeds of this amazing router. I’m having a blast with this router and would like to recommend it to you. After trying AX6000 I will never look back at my other "high end" routers. Thank you Netgear for providing this complimentary router to me through the first look review program.

Can’t handle heavy traffic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t know if I received a defective unit, but for a router that has a retail suggested price of $399, it should be able to handle a lot of traffic. I kept having issues involving my Xbox One X where the entire router would restart if I joined a party of three users or more. I reached out to Netgear customer service who put blame on Cox, despite not having this issue on my 2013 AirPort Extreme. After playing around for nearly two weeks to resolve the issue, I ended up returning the router to Best Buy. This was my first Netgear product and more than likely my last.

Requires manual reset/power cycle, 3+ times a day
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google this product and research the forums, and decide for yourself if you really want to deal with the issues many users are experiencing. Many users, including myself, are experiencing that the device locks up and then Wifi is inaccessible. You have to power cycle the device several times a day or more, and then of course wait for your devices to reconnect. The web based admin screen is not accessible via Wifi or ethernet so you cannot reset it remotely from a laptop or desktop. None of the solutions, older firmware revisions, or running the latest, or doing a factory reset are working. Basically there are no settings adjustments or configuration changes a customer to make that stabilizes these units. Other customers are reporting that Netgear offers to RMA it for a new device. So far everyone who has done this has reported the replacement has the same issue. i.e. It's either a firmware issue or inherently defective hardware. Today I did a tech support/warranty claim call with Netgear. They offered to RMA it as well. If I could return it for a refund, I would, as these issues have existed since day one. I just expected Netgear to have the issues resolved by now. This is my 3rd Netgear router: the WRT54g was a rock solid product, and the N600 also could stay running for months without requiring a reset. I really wish Best Buy would step in and do something here. In terms of ease of use, the Netgear iOS setup app is not backwards compatible with the firmware version that is running on the router carried in the store! Yet all of the install menu's indicate things are "sort of" working so you can waste an inordinate amount of time with the initial setup, unless you give up using their "easy app" and go to the web based installer which actually works using the standard 192.168.1.1

Impressive reach!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Totally impressed with this router! Great reach in a large home, even into my garage/shop which didn't happen with my old router. Love the included Armor security for increased protection.

Disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really wanted to love the product but SmartConnect was terrible to the point where I had to set up different 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks rendering it unusable. I have an existing Airport Extreme and I'm amazed how much better the Airport still is relative to the RAX80. I need to improve my outdoor wifi coverage so was hoping the RAX80 would be the center of my wifi coverage re-build on a new platform since Apple is no longer supported but didn't work out. I'll give the Orbi system a try but since my house is CAT5e wired, thought I would try the router instead. Too bad.

Works Great
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little nervous about buying this as a few of the early reviews cited problems. I've been using it for two months now and it's working flawlessly. I like that it handles all of our devices with no trouble.

Not ready for prime time...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 4 months of wanting this router to work, I give up. I've tried various settings, spent 2 hours on the phone with Netgear, but still problems persist. It's not a smart router. It doesn't manage devices well. It allows devices to linger on poor signal bands. The 5Ghz radio is constantly disappearing, making it impossible for devices to connect and stay connected. This router has been nothing but problems. Much better options available, especially for $400.

||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing router, haven’t had any issues since I purchased this nighthawk. Before our streaming services would lag, since I’ve purchased this everything has been smooth sailing

Good product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router has been working ok. No complaints there. I'm only giving it 3 stars because the instructions and app are worthless for setting it up. Not happy with that at all.

Works but sometimes unstable
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works but I have had some issues with network availability. I have had several Netgear products and most seem to be good. It could be the way it is configured on my part.

Great router!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted a router that would provide wi-fi coverage to my detached garage, Tried NetGear's Orbi, but it didn't reach that far, so replaced it with the Nighthawk and it is working great.

NIce Upgrade!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was upgrading from the 7800 and was worth it, I, however, did not feel like I was getting the full coverage like I was expecting. I returned and went to the RAX120. now have that missing coverage.

Nighthawk AX8
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.to anyone thinking of buying the netgear Nighthawk AX8, I have to say don't. I had purchased this as an upgrade from a netgear r6300, which served me well. from the specs I was expecting to have further coverage , the new AX technology to future proof, smart connect, an extra ethernet port among other features. What I now have is a Nighthawk AX8 that is consistently dropping devices, losing the 2.4ghz band and requiring a reboot, The smart connect which combines the 2.4 and 5ghz bands into a single same named network where it is supposed to automatically assign the device to the band which best serves it, seems to work but if connected to the 5ghz we have seen it drop you and then connect to the 2.4 and then back again, sitting stationary and less than 20 feet from the router I would expect this not to occur. A nice thing is that you can rename all your devices either in the App or from a browser, with a house filled with alexa and many smart devices, doorbells, lights, switches and outlets, I thought was nice anyway. It seems that even saving the names does not work since the next time you view your network from the app or browser the names have changed back to default. as far as support from netgear, almost non existent, opened a case, they routed me to the wrong support team and then said would call back or contact me, which they have not. Yes I even upgraded to the latest Firmware and it actually seems worse than before, since now the router seems to require a reboot to get back to working normal for a while. overall, I should have waited till netgear was actually ready to release this router and save the 300plus it cost

Terrible product
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used Netgear in the past and thought maybe with a modern gaming router they would have stepped up there game. Nope, Netgear still sucks. This router took almost 2 hours on the phone with their ‘support’ team (who had no idea why it wouldn’t connect to the internet) to setup and I’ve setup hundreds of networks. My connection kept dropping, of course Netgear says it was my ISPs fault, so I called my ISP and they gave me a new modem, but this trash router kept losing connection. The app is not user friendly and kept logging me off. After a few days I returned this and bought the ASUS RT-AX88U WiFi 6 router and it’s AMAZING!! 1,000 times easier and faster than this Nighthawk. Get that router, not this Netgear garbage.

Good choice for lots of connections
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I chose this because I have a lot of items to connect, usually about 45-50 at a time. It keeps up with the traffic and has been dependable so far *fingers crossed*

Fast Fast and easy to setup.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.High end features like traffic shaping, VPN, bandwidth management, along with 8 full streams means no more problems with all the chrome cast, Apple TVs, and Sonos speakers I have on my network.
