    Unfathomable problems installing printers

I wish I could give a glowing review, but ever since I connected the Nighthawk AX-8-Stream AX6000 Wi-Fi Router, I cannot install the software for and connect to either of my Canon printers that I also bought at Best Buy. I am mostly very satisfied with the products I have purchased from Best Buy and I mean that. It might be a problem with my Windows 10 computer that I also bought at Best Buy. I guess I am saying that I may be completely wrong about the router and I hope that I am.

Cleared up some connection problems we were having when using the Xfinity modem/router unit with our HP printer and a hardwired work connection. Still getting the same speed as we were.

Disappointing 2.4Ghz performance, 5GHz was great!

Tried to upgrade my router to state of the art with this one but it didn’t quite work for me. I have over 30 2.4Ghz smart home devices and needed a fast, reliable router to talk to them. From what I found, this one significantly improved my 5GHz performance but did nothing for 2.4Ghz. Considering the significant cost of this unit ($300+), I decided to return it and purchased a lower cost TPLink router at 1/4 the cost which also performed much, much better at 2.4Ghz.

The NETGEAR Nighthawk AX6000 really improves my WiFi signal in the house. We run several HD streaming devices at once, and our new router handles it with ease!

buggy firmware or defective hardware? 5g network keeps dropping. 2 different units, hours on phone with tech support, multiple tweeks, hard resets and firmware versions. I've never had a problem like this before!

This router refused to provide stable WiFi to my home compared to the stock Xfinity modem. If my iPhone fell off 5ghz (it did often) it would not be able to see the Apple TV that was connected to 5ghz or even when it was wired in. All in all, you’re better off to keep looking. WiFi 6 only raised my download to 400 mbit while Tri Band AC gets me to 375 or so...

The software is terrible; the performance is woefully inadequate. Single drops constantly no matter the settings; I work in IT and won’t get technical here but to say this was a rushed product group with pitiful software and the updates only make it worse. You will have better performance and range with their high end older routers and a 3.1 modem.

This is a review for the Netgear Nighthawk AX6000 Dual Band W-Fii 6 router, RAX80. When I first started to set it up, I was skeptical if I would have the same speeds as my previous Netgear router, the Nighthawk Pro-Gaming Router, XR500. I tested the speeds on my PS4 and Xbox One before removing the XR500 and after installing and setting up the RAX80. I should not have worried as I actually have a little bit better speed on both consoles (wireless setup). The setup of the RAX80 was pretty easy once I removed the XR500 from my device list on the Nighthawk app from Android. Once I did that, I was up and running in just a few minutes without any issues. I renamed my SSID's to match my previous setup and that was it. I rebooted my modem, and I was online. I've been very happy with the RAX80. The speeds have been great. I'm getting a few MBs faster in my upload and download than with the previous router, which I think is due to the range of the router being improved. The router is in my office while the gaming consoles are in the media room. I also had some Netgear range extenders downstairs to help with the range of all of my previous modems so I could get signal in my backyard when working in the yard or entertaining friends. I'm happy to say that I now use those as a "guest" network as the RAX80 has outstanding range. The modem is in my office, towards the front of the house upstairs and I now have a steady signal in my backyard. Pretty dang impressive to be honest. The admin/router settings interface is your classic Netgear interface. It's easy to navigate and to change settings on the fly. I was on the road and my son wouldn't go to bed when his mom asked him (hooked on Fortnite). I went through the remote admin option and turned off the access to just the PS4 and Xbox One within just a couple of minutes. I love how easy it is to use. My mom could probably figure out how to set up the RAX80 - it's that easy to setup and use. What I really love about this router as well is it has OFDMA which allows it to handle the traffic to all of my connected devices. I no longer have to worry about my Alexa dot, show, or firesticks taking away any network from my work laptop, my cell phone, or from the consoles when they're in use. I've noticed that the overall speed seems to be better as the RAX80 knows how to prioritize data on its own it seems. I have DishTV and I've always had issues with buffering at times on Netflix. In the past, Netflix would start to load a show and stop at 16% loaded even though audio would start. I'd then have to exit Netflix and go back in. It happened almost daily. I'm happy to say that I was able to binge watch Netflix the past couple of weeks and I had no issues with streaming/buffering once. Another nice feature about the modem is that the antennas are already optimized so there is no messing with them to find the best layout. You can also hang it up on the wall, which I have been thinking about doing, just to have more shelf space. Love that small touch. I would recommend this router to anyone who has multiple smart devices in their house, who stream shows, and anyone who has kids who play online games. This device is a powerhouse when it comes to providing constant connectivity. This past weekend, my son was playing Fortnite, I was streaming Netflix, and my wife was on Hulu and we had no issues at all. In addition, my wife was looking at Facebook on her phone, my son was looking at YouTube videos (because he has to watch other people play while playing), and I surfed Reddit. I can honestly say that this router handled all device/network requests beautifully. While I did receive this modem through the Netgear First Look Review Program, it did not influence my review. I am in love with the Netgear Nighthawk AX6000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router. I plan on buying one for my brother as he was complaining about the range and speeds in his house over Christmas.

This thing makes a loud humming noise, the interface is great, but Netgear tech support is terrible, I called in for support, they said someone would contact me in 48 to 72 hours, it’s been a month and a half, still no call back, they need to work the bugs out on this router, they don’t have enough trained tech support agents to support their newest technology

Internet speed and coverage was considerably decreased using this unit vs previous Netgear router I had that was zapped by lightening. I used it for 3 weeks before returning it and purchasing another netgear model that works excellent, the Nighthawk X6S AC4000. I have many items connected to router to include 15 Arlo wireless cameras many of which are as many as 60-70 yards from router and this new unit works as previous Nighthawk worked. I don't recommend the AX6000 as it definitely has some issues
