Junk
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Keeps dropping WiFi signal. Speeds vary drastically and just not reliable. For the price of this thing, there should be no issues!

Security Issues & Wi-Fi dropping too often...
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sad to share this but the Netgear model RAX-80 "AX8" isn't working properly dropping the Wi-Fi too often and showing some unknown connections that make me to understand that I may be hacked! I went to Netgear community website and discovered that many owners are in the same situation but Netgear seems not helping anyone. I bought it on Feb 22 2020 and it still under warranty... I will keep this review updated if Netgear will help me to resolve this problem.

Too weak for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not as powerful as an ASUS WiFi 6 router. I was very underwhelmed by its performance and the speeds I was 2 rooms away. I highly recommend an asus router instead.

Nice, if it would just work
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router to replace an older Netgear that was limiting my network speeds. I'm getting great network speeds...if only it would stay up and be reliable. I was having to reboot it due to no network broadcast every 7-10 days. 2 reboots in 3 days, and I contacted Netgear for a replacement. Now 1 1/2 days in....lost signal with this new device. When I feel like taking the loss of $300+ router again, I'll be replacing it--and definitely a different brand!

Worked great for 2 months
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We "upgraded" in January to this new, fancy, and expensive router. It was amazing. Everything zipped along so smoothly. Multiple TVs streaming, laptops, Xbox, Alexa, it all worked great. Until March. Since then it's been nothing but connection issues. First the Alexa wouldn't hold a connection for longer than 10 minutes. Now the Xbox is unusable unless we plug it directly into the motem. Yes the firmware has the most recent update. No it isn't our internet provider. Don't buy this unless you want an extremely expensive paperweight.

Wouldn’t go for it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this router would’ve been great, but turned out not to be intended. Phone support sucks having to wait 1 hour or more. Also, the firmware update never fixed there issue that everyone has.

This product is a scam
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BUYER BEWARE I bought this product on Sep 22, 2020 Today is 8/16/2021 The thing gets an internet connection but for a wile it has refused to broadcast on 5ghz network, and now it won't broadcast on 2 has a habit of rapidly disconnecting and reconnecting devices and the interface can only be accessed by a mobile app, making it impossible to access the interface when it is doing this. DO NOT BUY EVER.....in fact, just don't buy anything Netgear.

WORST ROUTER EVER HAD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THIS ROUTER LOOKS GREAT!!! BUT THATS THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT IT, THE ROUTER DROPS WIFI ON DEVICES RANDOMLY AND I HAVE TO RESTART IT 4-5 TIMES A DAY TO GET IT BACK WORKING. TRIED CONTACTING SUPPORT AND THEY SAID THE PRODUCT IS TO ADVANCED FOR THEM AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO GET SOMEONE TO RING ME BACK WITHIN 48HRS. NOT HAPPY

Loose power connection
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Power connection was to loose to have the cord hanging. Was hoping netgear would step up and replace it. But they told me to return it to where I purchased it from.

Drops like it's hot...over and over and over again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Highly recommend you stay clear of this product. This Rolls Royce of a router performs more like a Chevy Impala with 300,000 miles on it. I live in a small 2BR apartment in Chicago and this router couldn't even hold a signal 15 feet away with no walls blocking the path. Dropped Zoom calls w/ work, kept cutting out over and over, etc. Returned within the 14 day window and got something else.

Connection kept dropping
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m sure this is a great product with the right ISP, but I kept losing connection on my devices. Didn’t have that problem with google Wifi. So that’s why I returned it.

Costly for a paperweight
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in August of last year hoping that it would at least last 2 years. It lasted 8 months and died. When I tried to get support on the product (has 1 year warranty) they said after 90 days you have to purchase a support contract to talk to a tech? What a rip off. I ended up getting them to send me another router and it has to be rebooted every other day to keep running. It is 2 months old? Netgear was my go to brand. Not anymore, poor manufacturing, and no support.

Known LAN issue research !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do NOT get this router ! There is a known issue where devices that are connected to the LAN ports keep disconnecting and reconnecting. I had my ps4 and then my ps5 connected by LAN and mid game it would say the cable was disconnected and then it would come back. Happened on all ports even my television. Tried different cables. Looked online and discovered it was a known issue. Ended up with Alien Amplifi and so much happier

Full of software bugs that they've known about
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Netgear has sooooo many negative remarks from customers on their website as they have not addressed all the comments about the interface and how it loses any and all edits, drops 5g connections, especially to android devices and wifi printers. Stear clear of this one...

Had to return it
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return this, I am very network savvy and I discovered there was a firmware bug that causes this thing to never give you more than 550mbps download wired speed even when I always get 941 gbps straight from my modem, I dug thru all administration settings and even used their useless tech support and no one was able to solve the issue, I ended up building a custom Ubiquiti UniFi network that now works flawlessly and Best Buy carries most of their products on the website

Would not recommend
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would not recommend. I bought the 2 yr geek squad protection and right after it expired the router started randomly disconnecting dispite all available troubleshooting efforts. I paid $300 for this and $30 for geek squad, so I expected it to still work after 2 yrs. Not pleased with this product.
