We have always had Netgear Nighthawks. Upgraded to this one when on sale. It is good sized, and does up to 40 wifi devices and up to 5 wired devices. Smart enough to decide based on device which band to use 2.4 or 5.0.

Big improvement over my previous unit. Much faster and more consistent connection. I had issues with devices dropping off the network previously. The application provides good information on devices on the network. It also offers guest password capabilities. Video and picture loading speed is great. The app walks through the set up process very well.

Great Router, replaced synology (whose attenas got lose and ultimately broke off)- I like that this has nothing like that. Looks great too! Make sure your ISP agent is versed with this router, mine had issues until a senior person helped.

Nice features, but Wi-Fi was faulty out of the box

I really liked some of this router's features. I particularly liked the way the antennae were arrayed in two wings instead of multiple uprights. The hardwired internet worked great. But the Wi-Fi bands kept returning "access point temporarily full." We had only a couple of devices attached. There was no way the access points could be full. I contacted Netgear tech support but got a response that someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours. I didn't want to wait that long. Maybe I would have been more patient had I not just returned a Linksys 6E router that wasn't working right. We ended up returning this router in exchange for a TP-Link 6E router that has worked excellently. I'm just sorry that I had to try three routers before finding one that didn't have problems out of the box. Do any of these manufacturers have quality assurance anymore?

I bought a ASUS router and it was dead on arrival. I returned it and decided to splurge on this one. Great phone app and user experience. I don’t use the 6ghz band yet, but the others are lightning fast with my 1.2G isp speed

EXCELLENT ROUTER! We had to purchase a new router for the new fiber that became available in our neighborhood. This Nighthawk is an easy setup and handles all of your network devices with no problem at all. Great product!!

Wifi reaches the complete house and makes it through the outer wall to a separate garage. Constant bandwidth on all three bands. Wish some devices did not have issues joining 2.4 and 5 into auto connect, but easy to change it back if you have a device that gets confused

CONNECTIVITY ISSUES AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

as of 11/29/2024 The device has some great features that allow for low latency connection. However, I would not recommend this device due to issues with the device randomly losing internet connection and would require for you to physically unplug-replug device. Would have this issue consistantly at least three-four times a month. The main reason I also do NOT recommend this device is how Netgear's customer service deals with it. If you are outside of the 90 day tech support warranty, then Netgear will require you to pay a repair consultation subscription for them to even help you, even if you are within the one year hardware-warranty. Even after mentioning all the methods used to troubleshoot the issue and gauge that the issue was the router, Netgear did not want to honor the warranty. After submitting a complaint with the BBB, they are more willing to work with me. If you purchase this device, I highly recommend purchasing Best Buy's extended warranty.

I did the initial set up with the cable from the router NOT going to the 2.5 Ghz port. Well, when I discovered the error, and re-plugged it, it involved a 45 minute call with NETGEAR. Moral of the story...read directions carefully in the beginning.

Wanted to update my old R8000 NightHawk I had gotten used. Tried a Mesh eero system which my house was too small for. This seems like it will be a SOLID replacement. Install was easy through the app. Love the new look of the wings and not individual antennas.

This is by far the best made right now. Uninterrupted service in a 12,0000 sq ft building, with no dead spots. It’s worth the dollars. Setup was so easy I couldn’t believe they got it right!
