    I upgraded from a SB6141 to this, due to hype. SB6141 worked fine, using it now. This device allows firmware updates from your ISP. I went to bed at 11pm with the internet. Woke up at 6am without the internet, all lights flashing on the modem, even when all cables disconnected except the power. I'm back on the SB6141 while I wait for RMA. I'm torn on this and settled on 3-stars. I had no noticeable improvement in throughput, but there this firmware flash vulnerability I now have. The older modem did not allow this. My complaint is really with Comcast, but should the modem allow itself to be "bricked"? How about creating a copy of the previous firmware and reverting to it when the modem can't boot? But what do I know?

    I plugged it in and got it added to my Cox account. Not sure what happened on the Cox side, but for whatever reason the tech support person needed another 15 minutes and a conversation with their supervisor to get it added, but eventually the interwebs started flowing through. So far I haven't had any issues but I imagine it's like anything else. 5-10 years is about all they're good for.

    This is the only modem that can do over 1 gig speeds! It rocks and works killer!

    A very cable modem. Comcast has had issues getting it to work on their system and has had to reset it several times but when it works , it works good
