I have been dragging my feet for the last year after Comcast kept emailing me my modem was not compatible with speeds I was paying for. After doing a test I notice the modem I had was 4 years old and the fastest speeds I was getting was half of what I paid for. After doing research Comcast and Att plan on rolling out Fiber internet so to purchase a future proof modem made sense since I wont have to do this in 2 years after Comcast drags it feet rolling out fiber internet. Over all the set up was easy and what was nice is if you follow the directions that Netgear gives you don't have to wait on hold with Comcast. Set up too around 8 minutes and after 15 minutes for it to reboot computer I did a speed test and was blown away how fast it was and how outdated my modem was. Might cost a little extra upfront but if you in a area that might be rolling out 3.1 internet over the next 2 to 3 years it would make sense to spend the extra few dollars and future proof you system. Last time I checked to rent a modem router combo that is 3.0 was around 10 bucks. If you trade in your old modem and get 15 percent off this will pay for it self in less then 12 months.

This cable modem is outstanding! I highly recommend it. It was easy to set up and my Internet speed has increased significantly! I definitely notice a big difference in performance since replacing my old cable modem with this one!

The price was great, the new speeds from upgrading were even better. Great entry point for my Mediascam internet. If you currently rent your modem from your ISP and thinking about saving a little money and looking for a great upgrade too buy this bad boy!

I've had this modem about a month and haven't had any issues to date. I don't use it to it's full potential but wanted to get it just in case I upgraded my speed. The shipping was extremely fast and setup was very easy. I haven't had any issues with internet cutting out at random times.

Upgraded 6 year old modem and this made all the difference. No more drops and speed problems. Easy to install!

Solid easy setup modem, you should be able to install it yourself if you have basic tech skills. I switched from Fios to Comcast, saving almost 50 bucks a month for similar download speeds. The upload speeds aren't as fast but that doesn't mean too much for the average home user.

This Netgear-Nighthawk Cable modem replaced my 3 yr old ARRIS - SURFboard 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem - after experiencing intermittent drops in service for last 5 months and having ruling out my ISP and router as not being the cause. Upon installing this new modem upon recommendation from Astound ISP technician the problem has ceased and now have returned to stable internet. Speed is same as before and the unit is sleek and has small foot print on my entertainment furniture. Very quiet and light is not distracting and due angled face not pointing at you if in a highly visible area like mine is. This works w/ many ISPs but best to confirm w/ your before installing to avoid returns. My max speed is 1 GB so this one fits the bill as it is 1GB rated and delivers as promised.

Have had 0 issues with my internet after switching to this modem. Way better than a ISO provided modem.

Sick and tired of mediocre performance from the Xfinity-supplied ‘high-end’ modem/router, I decided to purchase my own kit. This modem was easily configured on the Xfinity online setup page. Connection is very fast and super stable, I’m even achieving +10% up/download speeds over my contract plan! Very happy with the purchase.

We needed a replacement modem for our Cox internet. After doing some research, I knew we needed a DOCSIS 3.1. This was reasonable, works with our Google mesh wifi, and is easy to set-up. If you have a lot of devices in your home, I would recommend this modem.

The nighthawk 3.1 works so much better than the 3.0 i had. Faster down loadsand better streaming. No more wating for the page to loan

Purchased this to handle my 1gbps connection. My cable company tried to push a 2 in 1 router on me, so I went and purchased this instead. All my gear is netgear including wifi routera. Works flawlessly. Never drops connection. Not sure if it automatically updates the router to most up to date firmware. Very happy with the product.

This cable modem is lightning fast, reliable, and always ready. I work from home and have never had a network failure with this cable modem.

I chose another products first and tried it out. Had multiple installation and setup issues. Talked with the Cox tech support and they recommended this manufacturer and model. Setup was easy and performs as advertised. Very happy with this selection, wish it was my first option I chose.

We were having slow internet Had Comcast come out and although some was a wiring issue, the modem we had was shot. I did my research and decided on this modem. Now getting speeds of 250+ MB’s/sec. This does not have Wi-Fi attached so you need a separate router with WiFi if that’s your goal. Easy to set up too

I recently upgraded my Comcast Internet to 1GB. They told me I had to upgrade my older DOCSIS 3.0 modem with a 3.1 modem. This one worked well. They did have an online activation option that was supposed to just work without having to contact support, but I ended up having to contact support to put the MAC address of the modem on my account. After that, everything worked great. I'm getting 700-800MBps on my speed tests now. Next upgrade will be my router. I had a separate router and wanted to replace devices individually, so I didn't buy the bundled unit. I also do not have service that could go higher than 1GB, or a home network that would support that, so it seemed silly to purchase the more expensive products now for something I couldn't use.

The Nighthawk was easy to install and has performed well in the month since the purchase.

Very easy to install and connect with. Matches up perfectly with our existing ORBI router (base and one repeater). Purchased so we could upgrade our internet speed and so far so good. WOULD use NETGEAR again before switching to different brand.
