    Despite advice from salesperson and info on the product. I was unable to have Comcast recognize the new modem. Comcast would not help. I ended up using GeekSquad who did a fine job — knowing the special direct phone numbers and web sites to have the modem communicate with internet. Took the technician an hour of thorough work.

    Arris seems to be better with two ports but this was much cheaper for me and Netgear is consistent in quality.

    Replaced modem that went bad. Seems to simply work. Model compatible with MIDCO and not all models are.

    Almost bought a Docsis 3.1 a week sooner. Glad I didn’t as was great to find one with telephone as well (I didn’t need a built-in router). Thus far, activated and has worked without flaw!
