Tire of paying monthy equipment rental from your IPS? Then you'll need to buy your own modem. If you have gigabit internet, you'll need a capable modem, and this one does the job. My Arris 8200 was giving me issues so decided to buy a new modem from Netgear. There are better modems out there with port aggregation for multi-gig but most IPS don't support it anyway. So far so good...we'll see how it goes for the next couple years.

Works great. Paired this with a TP-Link AX3000. Together my WiFi is fast and smooth. Spectrum is my provider and after calling spectrum so that they can send signal out to my residence set up was smooth and simple. Always remember Best Buy price matches. Always prefer to buy from Best Buy over other stores for their warranty.

Works perfect. I am using it with Suddenlink for Internet only. The modem can handle 1 Gb but I am only paying for 200MB, with the intention of increasing it in the future, but I know I already have the router that can handle it and does not have a problem to also manage the current 200MB speed. Saving those $10 to 15 that the ISP will charge for equipment rental.

This modem works great with Xfinity and gets the speed that I pay for. I have 500mbps with Xfinity and get all of it plus some with a direct connection. Given how many devices in your home that connect to internet these days this is a must have and keeps me from paying Xfinity’s ridiculous prices for a monthly rental. Overall very happy with the purchase!

Like many other people I'm somewhat limited my options for internet service providers. At least having a better modem is crucial. The default modem/router combinations that ISP's handout are usually lacking in some feature or another. In previous modem's I've rented there was even a critical exploit that was never patched by either the manufacturer or ISP. A name you'd expect to be able to release a fix for it. Netgear has been incredibly solid for me. This is the second modem by them that I've owned. The interface is a no fuss solution. There aren't a myriad of options with it but that's how a modem should be. Unless it doubles as a router there's no need for a multitude of customization. There's been numerous reports of some cable modems overheating. With the slotted vent style of this modem it helps to prevent these issues from occurring, plus it gives it a nice aesthetic. It can be stood upright or laid down horizontally. In either case it's of course recommended to keep it in a well ventilated area and away from heat sources. I don't own any other Netgear products. Lately though I've been considering transitioning some of my other networking components to the brand such as a router and repeater. Simply because it's a name I've associated with as good quality. If you're looking to save money from your ISP rental and/or you have issues with your current modem constantly causing issues, requiring a cycle (power off/on) then I do recommend this product. Uptime is somewhat dependent on your ISP but normally I only ever cycle this modem once every 8-12 weeks.
