Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the product's impressive speed, strong performance, and overall ease of use, including its simple setup and seamless connection. They also appreciate its compatibility, DOCSIS 3.1 support, and affordable price, noting that it operates without lag and stays cool. However, customers are negative about the limited number of ethernet ports and, for some, the signal strength.

Combine this with the Nighthawk Router!!

Other than the single coax cable in/out-put, the performance is amazing. We coupled this with the Netgear Nighthawk router and it's truly been life-changing. We no longer rent our modem/router combo (that's supposed to be the best of the best) from Cox!! yay! no more wifi drops in my home office; we can play our games and use wifi on our phones in our bedroom now; our PPV UFC fights don't lag or get fuzzy or freeze anymore!!

Wanted to stop renting modem from Comcast.. setup was simple.. just have to call Comcast with mode, serial # and MAC Address ( gather this info from bottom of the unit before you call). They activate it on your account and you’re all set. And this will be future prod to get faster speeds later. I also like the idea of separate Dedicated modem (like this) so I can change and replace my WiFi router whenever newer tech makes sense to upgrade.

I’ve had this for over a year now and it’s a set and forget type of device no issues whatsoever. Also beats paying your internet provider a device rental fee every month!

Comcast recommended I get a new modem to accommodate the speed increase to 200 download. Before the modem change I was getting 125 download speed. After I installed the NETGEAR - CM1000 Ultra-High Speed DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem - Black, my download speed increased to a consistent 235. The install was very easy and required little assistance from Comcast. Also the modem's software is upgradeable over time to accommodate much higher speeds. It is expensive but it delivers. Highly recommended.

I was tired of paying rental fees on my Comcast modem, so I bought this to replace it (along with a router). The internet speeds I can reach on this are significantly higher than the old router that Comcast provided. Setup was easy, and I was able to do it without having to call for help from my ISP. All in all a good bargain for the results I am getting.

Installed by calling cox communications support. They asked me plug everything in, turn the power on & report what the lights were doing. It took approx 90 seconds for all solid green lights except for the bottom ethernet light which blinks very quickly. Then it was done and I'm back up and running. Ookla Speedtest on cox.com consistently at 180+ on 150 service (previous ARRIS 6183 consistently around 125). 32 channels locked downstream and 4 locked upstream (only 4 available in my area). Firmware V2.01.14.

I bought this to replace a Netgear C7000v2 that had to be reset at least once a day and never got more than 50% of the internet speed available on my service plan. This modem, paired with an OrbiPro, has been rock solid since I installed it 1 month ago. It never needs resetting. It gives me 100%, and often more, of the internet speed on my service plan. Interfaces flawlessly with the OrbiPro wireless router and satellites.

Very easy to set up and very dependable signal. Increased my internet speed considerably. I ended up returning this only because Comcast gave me a free Modem/Router when I upgraded my Internet plan.

I purchased this DOCSIS 3.1 modem to support an upgrade to gigablast with our ISP. I was already using an Orbi router with 2 satellites to cover our large 3 story home. We now have wifi speeds between 500-850 mbs depending on which room you are in. Our speeds were between 50-150 mbs with the same router and our old DOCSIS 3.0 modem. It was easy to setup and so far we have much higher wifi speed.

After getting set up with internet in my home with Xfinity, the techs couldn't get the system working and they left their modem at my home. I was able to get it working, but their modem was not good, so I purchased this one and took theirs back to them. The Netgear modem is excellent and the speeds are great. I have paired it with my Netgear Nighthawk router and they are working terrific together. I highly recommend this modem.

Easy to setup. I have Xfinity for at home internet. This modem was easy to get hooked up and have ready to go very quickly. Connected my own router to it, I am using a Eero mesh network with 2 routers and have 0 issues since I got connected. Well worth the money spent to be using my own gear. Would reccomend!

I have the Comcast/Xfinity Triple Play (Cable TV, Internet and Home Security). I previously had the voice feature but replaced it with the home security because I never used the voice feature and wanted gig speed. This modem is one that allows gig speed. I get well over 900 Mbps on my desktop and over 500-600 Mbps on my iPhone. I also have the Netgear Orbi router to go with this modem. I highly recommend this cable modem. Easy to install too.

I bought this modem to replace my existing xfinity router. Set up was a breeze, didn't even have to call xfinity and the instructions are included. The only bad thing for some is that it only has 1 ethernet output, but I am using it with my linksys ea9500 which has many outlets so it wasn't a big deal. The two of these work amazing together and the modem is very small and lightweight. Just make sure you get a router as well if you plan to use WiFi as this is only a modem.

We recently changed internet carriers due to desperately needing faster speeds and we decided to try NETGEAR - CM1000 Ultra-High Speed to help maximize the upgrade and it has been excellent. It was initially challenging to break the $200 mark, but I would recommended it. It works great and we recently learned that in the next year or so many internet providers are going to be upgrading to 3.0 or higher and this unit will not require us to do any additional upgrades.

Upgraded to gigabit internet, and my old Surfboard modem wasn't fast enough. Saw a thread on Reddit that recommended the Netgear modem over the Surfboard DOCSIS 3.1 one, so I decided to go for it. Installation was easy, I did have to call Comcast to have them add it to my account and after they sent the reset signal it started working right away. Easily hitting the gigabit speeds I'm paying for so I'm happy!

So far it's been great. I upgraded from an 8x4 channel and all the additional channels have made a huge difference with our speed and reliability. A bit pricey compared to other modems but the additional channels and the docsis 3.1 support should give you some "future proofing". Plus in all reality it will pay for itself after a while with the money you save on the equipment rental from your ISP.
